I know really. I loved her whole line about how he had no right to be justifing what he was doing. HE didn't He could've left her with something instead of leaving her high and dry.

Not justifying his actions, but he came across in the domestic scene where Claire's hanging curtains like someone who was disappointed in the direction their life was taking. He felt that his working days as an artist were over (remember how Claire said he'd gotten rid of all his paintings and she was moving in?). He might've felt stifled by her attempts to make a home for them and the baby. Again, not justifying his actions, but trying to understand where he's coming from.

Why couldn't he still be an artist, though? Yeah, he probably has to work to support the baby and so does Claire, but still art could be a hobby or a second (part-time) job for him.

That being said, Thomas is a jackhole. A big one. Accusing Claire of trapping him into living with her because she "deliberately" got pregnant is the lowest of low. He was there too, why couldn't he have used a condom? Idiot. |I

:rolleyes

Remember when she first found out she was pregnant and she said ofcourse it wouldn't work and he was the one who convinced her to move in and have the baby as a couple? Why raise her hopes and go to the trouble. I understand not wanting to but not going to the trouble just to drag the rug out from underneath her.

Thomas needs to die!!!! If I were him I would have worshipped the ground she walked on. I know how to settle it though, Claire can come live with me!!!

He was a jack@ss, but I think it has more to do with poor writing than anything else. Most people's reasons for leaving in a circumstance like that would be (and are) complicated and mixed with intense emotion. I don't think they had the time to explore a set of realistic reasons for Thomas to leave... so they just did the best they could in the time allotted.

Yeah, I really hate Thomas. I wish he'd die. He wasn't really hot, either.
