I'm linking some of his recent threads as they're the most recent ones, but my reasons are as follows:
I think all of his threads right from as far back as his "It's the plane...AKA Brennan took the key" thread in 2006, have always provoked and promoted dicussion and new ideas etc...He always links pictures to give the reader visuals, he keeps them light, amusing and entertaining, he welcomes all ideas and twists into the discussion and he puts people at ease. He also always maintains every thread he makes, he keeps them alive and keeps on drawing people in...I feel that by him doing this he enables posters to feel really comfortable in talking about thier ideas no matter how off the wall they might be, and i also think that because of his actions, he definately encourage new posters and lurkers to post in the forum because he makes thier time here more fun.

He has been here since Jan 06, with over 5000 post. And his posts are usually thought provoking and occasionally argument provoking :).

One of his earliest and best threads was the one on Locke's Luggage. It was one of the first threads that I read when joining here and thinking, Yep, this is the place for me.

A search shows he has started over 250 threads, alot of which are polls, which encourage ":audience participation."

While his Lost focus is primarily John Locke, he also posts alot in the movie threads.

In closing, I think he is a positive contributor to the forums and is deserving of recognition.

Treesong's threads often challenge the reader to take a non-traditional view of LOST yet consider some of the "clues" in a new light. Whether it's the +Reality thread or +Imaginary Space/Time thread treesong carefully introduces his theory and explains complex concepts in simple/clear terms often relying on metaphor.

The smokey thread is stellar. This could only be the work of a madman. Clearly he poured himself into it, losing sleep and sustenance to bring it to us. Out of all the insanely mind-numbing details it contains, my favorite part about it --what really drops my jaw--is the sheer length. Any member who devotes that kind of intense attention to posting is an asset to the board. This is true if you agree with his thoughts or not. And if you dont understand something or you want to tell him he was drunk when he wrote it, he is also crazy enough to banter with you about that.

Be it dialogue, imagery, plot development or other Lost related detail treesong's recall and ability to connect it to the discussion enhance and clarify the discussion. Like any good poster, treesong does have his own theories but rather than try to convince the reader that he is "right" he will simply attempt to have you see his point based on the facts presented and allow the reader to decide for themself.

But since this is the most valuable member we must look beyond post count and thread starts; we must look at who best serves the forum by developing and encouraging an environment to discuss ideas without fear of defensive snipping and attacks. He has continually proved to be a poster that welcomes new members while respecting the traditions that made LTV what it has become.

And his efforts don't end there....as anyone who reads him knows. This is a poster who is always active. He is intelligent, witty, helpful, and entertaining.

I probably don't need to mention his Imaginary thread as it is well-read as is the Reality theory.

Finally, it has ocurred to me that treesong, along with the admin, has contributed to some of the more subtle changes to the site, specifically the Theories tag/prefix project of Hiatus 2008.

To sum up: I dig readin' his stuff.

Nominations are open for a few more days. When they are closed, there will be a few days delay before the polls are open. During that time, we will be making sure that all nominations are included in the first post, and then creating the polls. With any luck, voting will begin no later than 9/2.
