View Full Version : Will the Raiders rise again?

Over the last 6 years, the Oakland Raiders are dead last in the NFL in winning percentage and turnover differential. There are plenty of other woeful stats as well.

Now there are rumors of coaches fighting (physically), questions about Jamarcus Russell, and worries about yet another losing season on the horizon.

I'm not asking when you think the Raiders might make it to the Superbowl, much less win one. I'm not even asking when you think they might make it to the playoffs. I have only one friend who's a Raider fan. He who would be absolutely thrilled just to see a winning season. I think that would be a return to respectability.
ETA: Fixed that. How much can i screw up in a single poll?

So... How long will it be before the Raiders win at least 9 games in a season?

This poll is public, and will close in about 5 months.

You gave no option for "When Al Davis has gone to that great Silver and Black shrine in the sky." which is IMO the most reasonable answer so I voted 3-5 years which seems the most likely. That's based on the correlary that any team, no matter how horrible, is only 3 seasons away from making the playoffs if the management makes the correct moves.

Aw, :poop:. That's what option 6 was supposed to be.

*kicks ground* I hate when i screw up.

Until this morning I would have chosen this season or maybe next, because I've heard some promising things about practice and we looked decent last weekend, and I am a Raider fan who is also an optimist ;). Now, with apparently more team drama looming, I'm disheartened, and I'm choosing 3-5 years from now. The Raiders just can't afford so many coaching distractions, as we already have enough trouble getting it together and getting the team to vibe well. Having Crazy Al at the helm is enough distraction by itself for any team. :D

Harry Callahan: I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk? Then I remembered what happened next... "I gots to know."

It ain't easy staring down the barrel of Liz's .44 Magnum. But sometimes you just gotta say... I feel lucky.

Until Al meets his maker, or his kids can find a lwayer strong enough to wrest the team away and have him delcared a LUNATIC, the Raiders are doomed to sign good players, watch them give mediocre effort, and trade them to the Patriots for a 4th round pick.

Unfortunately, there's nothing in the bag of cool mod tricks that lets me change my vote. I can change the vote totals manually but it would still show me as voting for "3-5 years." so I think I'll let my vote stand.

Not a Lions poll, so, no need.
