The mods and the webmaster are discussing forum guidelines. Not all internet sources of actor bios are reliable. We would prefer that speculation about the personal lives of the cast be kept to a dull roar or better yet, chat amongst yourselves, but not here in open, public forum. Until and unless an actual statement comes out of the mouth of an actual actor, it never happened!

Jezebelle: this is a message board, not a gossip board, per se. There are loads of places for that.

Regarding the "official" part? Since the post had a misspelled name in it -- and the wording of that last sentence was just too -- too --- unofficial sounding, I'd wonder just how "offical" it was.

Message boards are not a "free country" anyway . Most have forum guidelines and members are asked to post within those guidelines. As previously stated, we're working on that. It may be that our fearless leader, Xander, decides that this is forum where we can post and speculate all we like, whatever we like.

Be that as it may, our goal is to maintain respect for the actors, producers and crew of the series, while giving the fans someplace to have a good time. Where do you draw the line? I looked at Dominic's bio on the tvTOME site and IT was wrong on one tiny issue (the non-smooking one). Therefore whoever is lifting these things and submitting them is NOT doing their homework. It did have info lifted from fansites (the name of the snake) So the bio itself looks to have been cobbled together.

Places like IMDB and tvTOME are updated by fans and random people All it takes is for one fan to hear something, true or false, and submit and the editors at those sites are relying on the reliability. ET and more mainstream source are likely to have checked their data first.

Naturally we will understand if you are not interested in posting here anymore and we wish you well. If you like, I can provide you with the names of some fora where is is a free for all. Send me a PM if you'd like to know what those are.

I will start a thread where we can discuss forum guidelines. Bear in mind that not all poster suggestions and desires will make it to the guidelines but let's have a discussion anyway.

I notified the editor for Evey's info... it has been removed.

All BUT the relationship info was from her ABC bio and reprinted with permission. The editor claims she does not know where that part came from.

I noticed that there are places where Evey's information is wrong.

I was reading her imdb profile, and it has a credit of her in a something called Judgement Day, and no where else has that. All there was was Kingdom Hospital on all the other previous acting jobs.

People, there will be a lot of folks coming out of the woodwork with so callled news and gossip, some of which -- in fact a lot of which -- will be just so much crap. I don't know what motivates them, and I don't frankly care.

I have seen people develop a fake scenario and spread it around via IM. People pretending to be Dominic or one of hte LoTR people. Or people pretending to know them. Eventually these folk are winkled out and that's the end of that.

I have also seen people sucked into believing this stuff because an IM relationship is developed.

If someone is is such a good friend of TV Actor why is she communicating with a perfect stranger about her private life?

What has motivated the perfect stranger to believe this stuff?

What happens if it turns out "Friend of TV Actor" is full of it and the perfect stranger realizes she has made a fool of herself for nothing?

And what if the "friend" really is a friend? And told things to the Perfect Stranger in confidence and the Perfect Stanger has broken that confidence?

We draw the line here at Lost-TV when it comes to fabrications and @#%$ stirring.

We also draw the line at people with multiple handles talking to themselves.

It is not as if the question came up in relation to the two of them, just each individually. She is unavailable, he is married to the business, hence, both, as far as I can interpret are off the market but not necessarily because of each other.

Celebrity gossip is often based around the notions fans have that an actor has to somehow be the fantasy in the fan's head and if reality does not bear that out, the fan is disappointed. Dom smokes --one of the girls (part of the Hawaii crew who seem to be following him around) were horrified.

It's not like he pulls the wings off of flies. It's just a cigarette.

Some people take great issue with rumors of a star's personal life which does nor represent the fan's particular view of The Way Things Should Be In The Fan's Head. That the rumors might not even be universal or even true, and yet people are getting their knickers in a twist, is even sillier.

May I squee briefly? I met Evangeline at a WWS show in July (world without sundays - a band Dominic and Elijah are friends with).

And when I interviewed her at the ABC thing she remembered having met me.

I think that's pretty cool -- that she remembers folks like that.

I remember hearing about Evangeline being at the WWS show shortly after it happened, and I squeed my head off, because it was a first sign (which seems to be confirmed by other interviews and such) that the Lost cast seems to be really bonding and forming some great friendships.

Of course, I'm madly jealous of anyone who was at that show. (what am I talking about? I'm jealous of anyone who gets to see WWS live, never even mind what other interesting people may happen to be in the audience on occasion!)

Yes, she was at a WWS show in July, which was where I met her. It was very cool because she recognized a friend of mine who had talked to her at another WWS show a couple months earlier.

She is really a delightful person No artifice at all.
