Hmm. I'm starting to think that Kate might have killed Jack's father, or was somehow involved in his death. Maybe that's why she's so hesitant to tell Jack about her criminal history? The producer of the show did say that everyone on the island is connected in one way or another. 8o I don't know, there has got to be more to it than a drug or alcohol overdose.

Where did the producers say this? And I think Australia is a pretty big place to be that coincidental. And besides, would Kate be identified as having a part in his death, caught by an American marshall, and ready for transport that quickly?

Unless, of course, she's also responsible for him leaving America. I guess that's possible.

I'm not sure if it was the producers who said it. I just know that I read that statement somewhere on this messageboard, possibly from an article or interview that was posted.

Kate wasn't hesitant to tell Jack at all, in Tabula Rasa, she sat down next to him and was about to tell he but HE stopped HER from doing so, saying that they all deserve a new start.

No...Kate did not know Jack before the plane crash and Jack's father died before Jack left Australia...so that theory is out!

Plus, If that's what Kate was being arrested for, wouldn't they keep her in Australia, since the death happened in Australia? The morgue attendant even said that he had a heart attack.

Jack's father drank himself to death. Jack's father is responsible for his own death. Simple

there is no way that kate killed jacks father because the marshal talked to her like he knew her. Perhaps, from chasing her previously. It wasn't as though they had just met.
