View Full Version : the inevitable love triangle
:\ sawyer + kate + jack = the love triangle!
that's how i think it's gonna happen. Even tho i am not very happy with it, because i don't like sawyer but in every show there is some sort of love triangle ie. one three hill, dawson's creek...and so on. But I say...Jack and Kate all the way!

What about a four-some? Kate, Sawyer, Jack and Sayid. Sayid and Kate are becoming friends and allies.
Just a thought! :D

Buffy+Angel+Spike.
She had relationships with both - didn't get either one.

hmm..... I don't think that's necessarily going to be. I honestly don't think there is any chemistry between Sawyer and Kate. I know you'll all say I'm crazy but I think he just knows how to get under everyone's skin and finds it easiest to get under hers. Sure he does it in a sexual way but he did the same thing to Shannon. We've just seen him do it more to Kate thus far.
The only triangle I see that's a possibility is Sun - Jin - Michael.

Yes, Sawyer gets under the women's skins sexually because he knows A) He's attractive B)They see themselves as strong independent women and he knows it will offend them.
And the Sun-Jin-Michael triangle is next week.
hmm... kate and sayid! well, i honestly prefer just jack and kate but yeah, that's a thought. i did see previews for next week that sayid kisses kate's hands and walks away, but i really doubt that sayid and kate is ever gonna happen.

I definitely think a Jack/Kate/Sayid triangle is gonna happen. I saw a little hint of it in "Walkabout" when Kate and Sayid were talking after she and Michael came back from the jungle. The look on Sayid's face when Jack walked up was very telling. He was not happy at all to see Jack and left as soon as he approached them. I see a little glimmer between Kate and Sayid and of course Kate and Jack share an attraction, so I think it is just a matter of time before Jack and Sayid are vying for Kate's affection.
Hmm I'd say Jack/Kate/Sayid is more probable that Sawyer...Somehow I think its just too obvious right now so it won't turn out that way (The Sawyer/Kate thing I mean. Plus Kate doesn't seem to be attracted to Sawyer whatsoever and he kind of acts the same with both and Shannon so its probably just a thing he does)

And here I thought that the reason Saeed turns away, when Jack approaches him and Kate, is because of the disagreement regarding the burning of the bodies in the fuselage!!!
Saeed exclaims, "But what about their religion?" or something like that, and Jack answers, "We don't have time to sort out everybody's God." And the next day, Saeed finds stuff to do with the transceiver and the antennae, etc so as not to participate in the preparations for the cremation.

who knew? I'm turning PG

Aztec: Can't turn PG in an R-rated world. You'll miss too much.
I think Sayid took Kate's hand in one part of that scene. They didn't show it because of the position of their bodies, but the movement indicated that to me. Could have just been a gesture - the mourning of the dead transceiver thing - but how many strangers do you want to touch after knowing them less than a week?
If anyone watches the ep again in the near future, check it out and let me know if I imagined it.

Azteclady: You are right. I think the exchange that he and Jack had about the bodies was part of the reason he left when Jack approached them, but I don't think that was the only reason.
Jacksgirl: I just watched that scene again and yes, Kate did take either Sayid's arm or hand. It is too hard to tell which because their bodies are blocking the shot. I just sense something between Kate and Sayid. The way he looks at her tells me that he is interested. But hey, I could be way off the mark.

Nikki - These are definitely two people anyone would be interested in. Kate is a beauty and Sayid is practically smoldering. I'm starting to look fickle - Sawyer one day, Jack the next, Sayid another, even Locke has a certain appeal - oh well... what can I say? Some of these men are downright gorgeous and all in different ways. Their characters all have something that just sucks you in.
JacksGirl
JG you don't look fickle. I agree with you. It's the layering of the characters. The more we know about each of them, the more appealing they seem. I'm on the same page about Sayid and Locke.

dsera: Good. I'm glad you feel the same. I'm starting to feel like a nymphomaniac. That might be a turn-on to some of the people around here (you know who you are...), but psychologically - definitely not healthy.

I hear you Jacksgirl. I am definitely a Jack and Sawyer fan, but there is no denying the beauty of Sayid. As far as Locke, I have been a big fan of his ever since his Harsh Realm days and I have always thought he was attractive.
Personality is 80% of attraction for me. I think in their own way, they all have a personality that appeals to me. I like Jack the least but that's only because I am not normally attracted to the 'hero' type of guys. Let him have a flash of being bad and I'll be all over it. Sick isn't it? heh

That's what makes life interesting. Alot of us like a little bit of the bad boy in our men. And Sawyer's "bad boy" persona is very appealing because I don't get any sense of real danger from him. Real danger in a man would be scary. Personally I find Jin more frightening than Sawyer any day of the week.
JacksGirl
^ I find that completely true. :) I love Sayid's personality, it definitely influences me to prefer his character to some other ones.

Gee Vicki - you're as bad as I am - thought you were Boone's girl all the way.

Just don't mistake that unless Sawyer turns into a wimp or a maniac, he's my number 1 guy!

I see Sawyer as a lot of things but definitely not a wimp and not a maniac. I actually see him as a hero. He just doesn't know it yet.

Maybe sooner than later. Check these out.

I only looked because it sounded like this week's episode (otherwise I wouldn't have peeked).
I don't think most of the men here see what we see. I see potential.
JacksGirl
Hahaha you should know I'm probably just as bad as you are :) Boone is still my #1 ;) but that doesn't mean I can't admire the others... :D
Maybe Sawyer was just nearby...and if he was, I wouldn't expect him to be so harsh to just leave him there...so maybe that's why he was helping Michael. Or who knows, maybe he's on his way to becoming a full blown hero ;)

Hello.
Been lurking a while now, and trying to decide where best to put this theory of mine. Since it's kinda (sorta) related to the idea of a Love Triangle, I figure this thread works.
Has anyone seen/noticed the structure of classic Anime series? The one that immediately comes to mind as the model of what I'm thinking of is G-Force/Battle for the Planet (and I think it had one other title as well). So what if instead of Sawyer/Jack being the leaders of opposite camps, we have, as our core group, an Anime 5 man team dynamic?
In an Anime 5 man team we have:
The Handsome Leader (Jack), the Rebel (Sawyer), the Girl (Kate), The Muscle and the Tech (Sayid taking on a dual role?). Some teams have the Kid, or the Wise Mentor when the Tech and the Muscle are combined, and sometimes when they're not (Disney's Gargoyles actually comes to mind here).
Now, the important thing is that the Girl is kinda the central figure. The Handsome Leader and the Rebel both want her, and for her sake they don't kill each other. (figuratively or literally). The Muscle and the Tech both love her, but in a sorta sisterly way, knowing that they never have a real chance with her romantically, because she's destined for the Handsome Leader or else the Rebel.
Prior to Charlie's developing relationship with Claire, I would have put him in as the fifth member of the team (filling in the "Kid" role), but that doesn't quite work any more.
Anyway, that's just my thoughts on the subject, and I'm sure how far off I am will be demonstrated in future episodes, but it's still a thought.

DWR: I love this "superheroes-type" team idea. Yes, it's been used in many places. It explains the dynamics of our core group in the most simplistic, understandable terms. Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Sayid and Locke are definitely the leaders and each has their separate strengths and weaknesses. They may overlap in several areas, but they each have a "defining strength".
Yes I like it. But then I love "superheroes" and the way they work together for a common good.
P.S. It also ties in with the significance of the comic book.

You know, it wasn't until after I'd posted that it even occurred to me how it mirrors a lot of good Superhero teams too. Probably because when I think of Supers teams (such as X-Men), I add the role of Lieutenant in there, and a few other variables.
(Okay, and the idea came to me while skimming Demon Hunter X for something unrelated, so I was in an Anime mindset)
Glad to see that this isn't a completely inane idea. :)

I don't happen to think there are any inane ideas - everything can have validity and potential at this point until we find evidence to the contrary. And even if proven wrong, an idea wasn't "inane", maybe just a little misguided... I think everyone has great ideas (even if I don't necessarily agree with all of them). This one I happen to like alot.
