Just a little something I found that is interesting. I don't know that it qualifies as a theory but it's speculation. It's a large treeliving carnivore that hunted in Australia until 50,000 years ago.

Interesting possibility - you may want to look for the threads on mammoths, and the couple of references to megatherium.
