Did anybody else think for a moment that the appearance of Walt was a trap, leading Shannon to her demise? Then I remembered, he was shushing both her and Sayid. So, was it a trap or was this manifestation trying to save their lives?

One other thing! Did the "havid" disappear before or after Shannon ran toward it? I can't remember! Or did it lead the way through the underbrush?

Until I see otherwise I will go with savior, but one who where ever he is kept didnt have enough juice in his out of body (and apparently out of water) travels to voice detailed messages. It would be just like Walt (and many other lostians for that matter) to attempt to help but in the process bungle things up. Poor Shannon.

I thought that havid Walt was walking/sneaking away and vanished (?) before Shannon ran after him. Of course it was Sayid's first encounter with wet havid Walt so he just froze there while the rain fell and Shannon slipped away forever. Wasnt Vincent in the vicinity as well?

Wasnt Vincent in the vicinity as well? And why does these incidents always take place while its raining? What's up with that! I mean, Shannon, Sayid, and Vincent were walking along, and all of a sudden it's raining. The same thing with Tailies group.

you know, I really have no idea why Walt is talking backwards. perhaps with projection there is distortion. maybe he is actually going backwards in time---hey a plausible way to explain the growth spurt. there will be some reason that we will accept. except for Walt himself being evil. that I just cannot abide.

Not sure how that would explain his sudden growth though? I'm looking forward to his first appearance of S2. And, how TPTB explain him being 6'4" 220!

What I didnt say very clearly but meant with the best intentions that internal processing can offer was that if Walt is already ahead in time then he can be taller and project himself taller also. The only other solution is no explanation at all, meaning that the show will give us enough credit to realize that the kid is going to grow and we will just have to accept the superficial incontinuity. But regardless of natural human development, Mr. Kelley should remain as the Walt Lloyd character.

If I'm not mistaken, TPTB have said, they won't replace Malcolm David Kelley with a younger actor.

Whoa! Malcolm is now 6'4''!!!! Amazing what a growing can do!

I personally think that Walt is savior. By people trying to figure out what Walt is saying by playing his audio backwards, he is giving advice to Shannon. I believe one was, "They are close..." and another was, "Don't touch the button, it is bad..." Until we have further detail into why is he this way, I claim him savior.

It seems like he is trying to help out the "Losties" the best he can by the situation that he is in. I think that by being in that situation, he is gaining more information about the island and why they were brought there in the first place.

The question I really want to get answered is, Who the heck is Captain Gordon's crew and "The Others" and why are they there?!?!?!?
