Is Walt the only child on the island? Or are there
others. Also if they all start "seeing dead people", shouldn't
Walt's deceased mom turn up soon?

That's a good point. I'm starting to wonder if Jack is seeing dead people. He saw the guy in the suit on the beach. Is he dead? Is he real? Is he just a figment of Jack's imagination?

From what I've read (this isn't a spoiler)...Jack has been pulling hours nonstop. The lack of sleep is causing him to hallucinate and vision some unresolved issues in his life. Jack apparently had some issues with his father.

We may see Walt's mom in a flashback. It would be nice if she turned out to be Tyra Banks or something! It would explain why Walt seems to think his dad is a loser!

This should probably be moved to the Walt forum but I'm going to interject my idea on Walt and Michael here.

Think back to Walt saying to someone, I think Locke, that he lived in Australia with his mother and "moved around alot" as the reason he didn't have an aussie accent. hmm

I think Michael is not the good guy he appears to be. I think the reason Walt and his mother moved around alot is because they were on the run from Michael. Maybe he beat her or whatever and she divorced him and ran. I think the reason he has Walt now is because he either stole him from the grandparents (not likely or I think Walt would realize it, he's not a dumb kid) OR maybe, just maybe Michael found his wife (ex-wife, whatever) and had her killed so he could have his son.

Just my theory. I guess we'll see soon enough if there's anything to it.

I'm pretty sure Walt said his mom got sick.

...or it COULD be that michael is indeed a "good guy" and the mom "took" walt long ago, and after her death michael and walt are finally reunited, with walt only knowing his mothers side of things.

weve only seen that situaton from walts point of veiw so far, and not very in depth at that...

I don't think Walt is going to see dead people anytime soon! :-)

I'm starting to think that there's more to Walt than anyone suspects. He seems to have some sort of unconscious control over the way things happen. For example, when he was playing Backgammon against Hurley, and he got the exact numbers he needed every time. On one hand, we may think, "Wow, that's one lucky kid," but on the other hand, it may be a very subtle clue to something more. Thoughts on this?

Welcome, LSim!

Glad to see you here. Stay and enjoy.

If memory serves, there are a couple of threads there on desires and fears manifestations, as well as on Walt's 'powers/abilities.'
