Ethan is NOT an Other!

How do I know this? Simple, Mr Eco says the Others dont leave tracks, and what was Jack, Locke, Kate and Boone doing in All the Best Cowboys..? Following his tracks.

Maybe Ethan IS an other (i.e. from the same group that took Walt), but the people that Eko and Jin saw in the jungle are not The Others. Jin assumed that they were from the same group that took Walt, but we have no proof of that so far.

Or maybe it's because Ethan was wearing shoes and our group from last night (I hesitate to call them "Others") were not. It also would probably be easier not to leave tracks if you weighed much less, i.e., a child.

I also do not beleive these "Others" are of the same group of The Others, or may not even be part of The Others at all.

First off, just their appearence looked off: their legs and pants were dirty, torn, and tattered, shoeless, while we saw the Walt-nappers donning matching tracksuites and fairly decently looking skin.

Also, I also noticed the way they moved. Yes, they were trying to be stealth, but solely from the boat scene last season, I found it strange that The Others would be trying to move silently and not march around like Kings of The Jungle.

And another point: Jin asked if it was "Others" who killed the man Goodwin (I think his name was), and Mr. Echo nods. But we can't know for sure that Jin and Echo were thinking of the same people. We know the term "The Others" from Danielle, and unless the tail-enders have also met up with her, it just seems unlikely that they would label a group with the exact same name.


In conclusion, my guess is that the people we saw walking in the jungle were either:

1) A group of separate survivours, from a toally separate crash/wreck (wouldn't that be a twist?), who have gone totally savage and cannibalistic, etc. Hell, it could even be some members of Danielle's crew that escaped.

2) Slaves or servants of The Others. This would adress my issue with their appearance. When I saw the teddy bear, I thought that it could be Alex, becuase the holder's legs were that those of Walt.

As A side note, while watching these people move, I actually thought for a moment that one of the sets of legs looked like Danielle's. But I can't be totally sure about that.

Good possibility, but I think it's unlikely they practice cannibalism since we saw an intact corpse (Goodwin) in the jungle. Seems to me they hunt for sport.

I'm beginning to wonder how the lostaways haven't discovered anyone else on the island considering the sheer number of groups that seem to inhabit it, there's the middle section, the TSS, Dharma, the Others (however many groups of them there are), Dannielle, whoever the hell Ethan was with. This island is getting a bit crowded.
