Hi

I'm Annie a 21 y. old german girl and I hope that any of you is able to help me answering my simple questions.

Yesterday i just wondered about, if there exists a Lost -Soundtrack or something in that way. Since yesterday I'm searching for a Soundtrack or for the Songs name...but i did'nt find anything.

Does anyone of you has an idea or maybe knows the name of the songs? That would be so nice.

Sorry if I made any bad mistakes in trying to speak your language but this is very impossible to me because I just love hearing that kind of music.

thx a lot

Annie

There is no soundtrack out for the show yet but there is one coming supposedly! They said there would be a soundtrack at the convention in LA.

You can find a list of the songs used on this site: Lost Music (http://www.have-dog.com/lost/)

Theres going to be a soundtrack? wow

I have been told to cut back on soundtracks I already have like a hundred (ok 10 but I can exaggerate if I want to)

I understand that a soundtrack of Michael Giacchino's score of the episodes is in the works, much like the soundtracks that are available for Alias Seasons 1 & 2 by MG.

I think they have tossed around ideas about doing a Driveshaft album, but I am not sure whether or not that will actually happen. If they do get around to doing a soundtrack album of songs that have been used on the show, they may include "You All Everybody" on that.

There's a download on the UK forum

www.lostfan.co.uk/forum/v...m.php?f=30 (http://www.lostfan.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=30)

Sometimes, I'll go to the Oceanic site and play the numbers just so I can listen to the music in the background while I do other things. Please don't tell anyone.

I hope they do make a soundtrack. I love the background music. I have downloaded the music played at the end of season one, when they show everyone getting on the plane. It gives me chills.

BTW, it's brutal here when it comes to duplicate threads.

The "sad" music that's played in the boarding scene at the end of Exodus Part 2 is "Life Taken, Life Given" by Michael Giacchino. It was used throughout Season 1 for other pivotal scenes too--Jack discovering the waterfall, Boone's death.

I don't have a download, but I have the piano transcription. I can send it as a .jpg attachment if you PM me with your email address.

"You All Everybody" is on the mini CD that came with the August 28 edition of TV Guide here in the U.S. You might be able to find one on Ebay.

If you have access to Apple's iTunes, there's a feature there called iMixes where people can upload their playlists for you to browse. If you search LOST in the iMixes, someone has made an iMix of the songs featured on LOST that you can buy through iTunes.

the song that hurley was listening to on the cd player in the first season is called Delicate by Damien Rice. if you've ever seen the movie Closer, the song playing in the beginning and end ("i can't take my eyes off of you..") is also Damien Rice called The Blowers Daughter. i have his cd (titled "O"), if anyone wants to download it you can here as a .zip file:

Go on the following link.

http://www.losthatch.com/soundtrack.aspx

It's not an official soundtrack but it has music ripped from episodes, some have dialogue in 'em. Has the 'Piano Boarding Song' though which seems to be popular.

Hope that helps. :)

Since my last post was moved somewhere where I can't find the replies (a 58 pg. thread that I am not going to look through, sorry), I'll ask again:

Can anyone get a sound clip of the song that played at the end of 2x08, Collission? When everyone was returning to camp and whatever. With no talking is preferable; there is a version out there, but it's from Exodus, and it has talking in it.

Why don't you try using the boolean search feature chaos28? You can find pretty much anything on the board pretty easy with it, and I strongly encourage every poster to use it.

In this case I just searched for *sound* +*track* to find this thread.

Hi LOST fanatics!!

I'm from Australia & the S1 DVD boxset has only been released within the last week over here (& working within the music/film industry - its going fantasticly well!).

Season 2 is starting in Feb 2006 - it feels like a decade away to see what is going to happen! - and please DO NOT mention ANYTHING!!!

The reason that I signed up with this forum is that I'm after the song (piano number) that was played when Bonne died (it is also the background to "The Art of Mattew Fox" on the S1 DVD collection).

I am urging ALL of you out there to please help me find this song (even if there is a link to an MP3 site, etc).

Thank you for all your help,

Jai aka WhiteLabel

At the risk of sounding like those condescending douchebags who tell people to use the 'search' every time an old topic comes up, I'll recommend you using the 'search' feature because I had the same desire to look for the soundtrack as well, which I found.

histrionic
12-11-05, 06:10 PM
am pretty much new here. i used the 'search' option and skimmed through other topics, but i was unable to find anything regarding my topic.

are there any piano scores out for the pretty 'lost' piano theme? i'm not sure if it is 'lost's' piano theme but if not, it sounds the same as the song played in the 'do no harm' episode or something.

i'd try and figure out the notes myself by playing, but i'd rather have a set of sheets in front of me.

(and sorry in advance if this isn't the place to ask about such questions. seems generally appropriate).

Histrionic, I have the piano transcription of the theme you're talking about. It's called "Life Taken, Life Given." I found the mp3 online last year (no longer there) and sent it to my talented friend who transcribed it for me. It's beautiful and very playable.

Okay, I've been tearing my hair out while trying to figure out who composed or who performs or what the song is called!

So, I'd be more than gratefull if someone could help me.

The song is in episode called 'Do No Harm' and plays in the end when Boone has just died and Claire and the others come out from the jungle with the baby and everyone gathers around them. And Jack goes and tells Shannon that her brother has died.

No one sings in the song, it's just beautiful piano playing. And if I recall right, the same song plays in some other episodes too..And it plays in the backround of "The Art of Matthew Fox", in the DVD extras.

Thanks in advance!:heartpump

Before Geronimo Jackson, Charlie plays an album Hurley hands him. Sayid calls the music depressing.

I know the song went something like: "If you're gonna fall, fall down on me"

It took me a really long time, but the name of the band is Pousette-Dart Band. I had to repeatedly freezefram the image and settle on one word : Dart. Then searched Dart band album on google and came up with a man by the name of Jon Pousette Dart. The name of the album our friends Hurley and Charlie are playing is called Amnesia and the song playing is track 2 on it- Fall on Me.

The website (go to music and then the first black album is ours. Click it to get close up pic and track listing).

May sound far fetched but my friend really liked one of the songs - she cant remember the name, which episode it was on or anything, other than, Hurley was listening to it on his CD player (before batteries died); it was daylight & it was after Sayid & Sawyer had a fight but before Sayid went off & found the crazy frech chick. Hi, New member here, first post.
Last week in Episode 11, Charley and Hurley were listening to a song called "Fall On Me" by the Pousette Dart Band. They were pretty popular in New England in the mid-late 70's. I'm pretty sure the original album the song came from is "Amnesia", but I just searched it up on Amazon.com and it's also on "The Best of Pousette Dart Band": http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-images/B00000DOST/ref=cm_ciu_pdp_images_0/104-7078516-4195969?%5Fencoding=UTF8&s=music&index=0#gallery. Another bit of trivia about that album, if you look closely as Charlie holds it, you'll see a mime on the cover. His name is Trent Arterberry and he was pretty popular in the mid-70s. (I saw him doing the college circuit.) Here's his link for him: http://www.trentshow.com/pages/biography.html.

That's the weird stuff that fills up the brain so we can't remember the really important stuff. It IS a good album, though!

Please take the time to read the Welcome Forum (http://www.losttv-forum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2). :welcome:

As to the opening song... I'm pretty sure it opened without music. However, after the initial chaos of Jack running around helping people, the soundtrack kicks in. I'm not sure what it is called.

Well, what I was trying to convey through that, was the difference in the Soundtrack thread between the speculation about the soundtrack, and the fact that it's now a reality, rather than a rumor. That's all. We heard rumors through the second half of S1 and most of the summer hiatus but never anything concrete, until now.

I'm sure that based on the popularity of this soundtrack, they will be releasing others.

Licensing music for a TV show airing is different than licensing music for distribuition in a soundtrack. Sometimes the deals go hand-in-hand, but not always, and not if the producers initially had no intention of producing one in the first place. I'm guessing that Lost didn't intitally think of capitalizing on new music, like in The O.C.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a "Music From Lost" CD in the works, and the music people are just trying to work out all of the details.

I bought the CD yesterday. All the tracks are in order by episode. So it starts out with the main title and music from the Pilot and ends with music from Exodus. They tell you which episode you can find each music track inside the CD booklet. The CD booklet also is full of the same promo pics you have seen all over the place (the calendar, books, magazines.) It also has a note from the producers stating they used big Hollywood composers including John Carpenter on the first test screening of the pilot. When the show was picked up, Michael Giacchino replaced it with his score.
The music is great but it's not the same without the visuals. But one can say the same thing vice versa, the visuals are great but it's not the same without the music.

I'll be checking Best Buy for it this weekend. The music is the backbone of the island. It helps the show to flow! I love it. Michael G is also doing the MI3 score as well. I still love Danny Elfman, but Mike G. is a name that will stand the test of time

I just finished listening to the LOST Soundtrack.
I've said it before and I'll say it again -
Michael Giacchino is a GOD. :D

His Theme and Variations are so brilliant, and his use of clusters make your stomach go into knots and your face prune like you've bitten a lemon.

And "Parting Words" is hands down my favorite track. I love the "Life and Death" theme that recurs throughout the soundtrack, but "Parting Words" is so truimphant, and all I have to do is close my eyes and I can see it....I can even hear Walt yell for Vincent to go back....:)

As much as I would have liked to hear complete compositions instead of just score from the show, this is EXACTLY what I needed!! :D
The Music, and nothing else. No dialogue, No sound FX. Just the Brilliant music of Michael Giacchino.

Peace,
Truff

OMG! HOW AMAZING IS THIS SOUNDTRACK?

I NEVER thought that the people at ABC would think to release a soundtrack for this show but I'm so glad that they did! It's just beautiful.

I have one complaint and it is that the song from walkabout which played when the audience learned that Locke was unable to walk pre-crash is not on the album. I realize it's basically the same as "Locke'd Out Again" but i liked the minute and a half version that was played at the end of that episode. I guess that's a small thing to be upset about, but those scenes for me were the two minutes when I realized that this was more than a show: It was a phenomenon!

Anyways, still a great album and I can't wait for the season 2 album!

Favorite songs:
"Hollywood and Vines" (I really like the vines part)
"Locke'd Out Again"
"Life and Death"
"Parting Words"
"Oceanic 815" (which is mostly "Life and Death" and "The Eyeland" mashed together, but still gooooood)

And is it just me, or do certain characters have themes?

"Locke'd Out Again" - John Locke
"Departing Sun" - Sun and Jin
"We're Friends" - Charlie and Claire
"Kate's Motel" - Kate
and i guess you could say "Life and Death" - Boone and Shannon

Now I realize that it might take time to get contracts signed and stuff between the companies, but I e-mailed iTunes in early march (I think the 3rd) and told them if they didn't put the album up on March 31st, they were losing a customer. They didn't put it up so i went out and bought it.

So if it is going to be on iTunes, I don't know when. They haven't e-mailed me back about it. Sorry

This Soundtrack has MOST of the music from the first season.

Locke's theme from Walkabout was actually cut from the disc (the only reason I was really upset after i bought it). However, the same music IS used in Deus Ex Machina, so I guess Giacchino decided it was expendable maybe?!?!

It's worth the money, I think, especially since you can get it for 10 dollars on iTunes. I just wish that Giacchino would give the free track from Walkabout to those who bought the album hoping it would be on there.

Crocodile Locke is NOT Locke's theme ... it's another song they used with Locke.

If you look at my quote, Lost Legend, you will see that I said: "Locke's theme from Walkabout was actually cut from the disc (the only reason I was really upset after i bought it). However, the same music IS used in Deus Ex Machina, so I guess Giacchino decided it was expendable maybe?!?!"

I liked the 1:30 version of Locke's theme from Walkabout ... it was short, sweet and to the point. However, Giacchino only provided the version of Locke's Theme from Deus Ex Machina ...

I was only complaining because I really liked the shorter version of the song and they provided multiple copies of the theme for life and death on the album, so why not two versions of Locke's theme?!?! I know, it's very picky of me, but I would like to have seen the shorter version on this album. I felt it was more powerful somehow ... I dunno ... maybe it's just me! :)

I have explained multiple times that I like the shorter verson of Locke's Theme from "Walkabout" and I dont like the long version from "Deus Ex Machina"!

They have multiple "Life and Death" repeats, why not two versions of Locke's Theme!?!?!? There were differences in the songs!!!!!

BTW: Check post 120 for more details ... I berated you for arguing with me already!

PS: I'm not angry at you Lost Legend, I just get frustrated when you point out that they do have ONE version of Locke's Theme ... but I'm picky and I like the other version!:)

Some of the audio might not map to a specific episode at all. In many cases, only portions of each track are used. That said, the titles of the tracks are pretty good clues for where they were used.

I love what I've listened to so far. I've been away from the computer all day so I'm just now getting back to it.

I guess they can't put every song on the soundtrack so not having that one really doesn't surprise me. Maybe they'll put it on the next soundtrack, but I doubt it. Then again, if there's enough public outcry about it, they'll release it straight to iTunes. Who knows, really.

I was MORE surprised (and disappointed) that what I call "The Hiking Theme" is also missing from the album. It's the song you generally hear when our heroes are hiking/journeying from one place to another. I believe you first hear it when Jack, Kate, and Charlie are hiking along in The Pilot and come across the front of the plane.

You also hear it in the finale, as Danielle is leading Locke, Jack and the rest on a journey towards The Black Rock.

And other times as well. This was one of the tracks I was most looking forward to. It's even on one of the DVD menus. And it's not on the soundtrack?!?!?

Crocodile Locke is NOT Locke's theme ... it's another song they used with Locke.

I have to disagree. Crocodile Locke is TOTALLY Locke's theme. When do they ever play it, except when Locke is doing something cool or sneaky?

I have to disagree. Crocodile Locke is TOTALLY Locke's theme. When do they ever play it, except when Locke is doing something cool or sneaky?

Actually, that is only one of Locke's themes. According to an interview with Giacchino,

Both men create recurring themes for the major characters on their shows; on “Lost,” a character such as John Locke may actually have a few different themes, Giacchino explains.

“Locke has his … `Oh my God, you took my kidney, why won’t you talk to me, Dad’ theme and then he has his `Guy who throws knives’ theme,” Giacchino notes. “Different sides of his personality that are represented by different thematic material.”
(From http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com/entertainment_tv/2006/01/24_and_lost_com.html#more)

'Crocodile Locke' is the "Knife Guy" theme. 'Walkabout' and 'Locke'd Out Again' is the "Oh My God" theme - what I like to call the "Don't Tell Me What I Can't Do" theme.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

GIACCHINO = GENIUS. :D

I'm particularly looking forward to having a nice version of the theme heard at the end of "Everbody Hates Hugo". :)

His Official Site (http://www.michaelgiacchino.com/) looks rather interesting.

Truff, i was able to nab a version of that song from losthatch.com (or something to that effect) that sounds pretty decent. PM me if that's not the version you have ... it can tide you over ...

OH and Michael Giacchino is my god Truff. I didn't realize you were a big fan.

Giacchino IS a friggin genius, and I am SO happy that the soundtrack is coming out soon. I will have a Job by then, so I will hopefully bye it the day it comes out, provided I have work on that day. Where I am working is right next to a Borders, so I will be able to buy everything right when it comes out, seeing as I will be down there more often.

I honestly can't wait for this!

I'd like to find out! I asked back when, but never got a satisfactory answer. All the links out there seem to reveal who does all of the songs except that one! *grrrrrrrrrrrrrr*

Any help would be appreciated.

I did a search at The Fuselage and all I could come up with was an answer from a Moderator (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showpost.php?p=920403&postcount=2) (Carencey) quoting the producer, Bryan Burke, of the Numbers episode:

seems that one is pretty much impossible to look up...burky (bryan burk, one of the producers) said that it was something they had gotten as "stock music", which is basically a repository of clips they can use on the cheap, so it's not something that we know a name and artist for.

Sweet! What a great treat the day before season 3 begins! If this is half as good as the season 1 soundtrack, then it will be a worthy purchase. Not to mention this album contains the ending credit song which the first neglected to include.

I thought I'd post my opinion on the season 2 soundtrack, which i just received and listened to. I'm loving the beginning of it. Obviously, the slower songs on the soundtrack are the ones I listen to most often (when I'm doing homework and stuff) and there were alot of slower pieces at the beginning of the season ... the end of the season is mostly fast-paced drum pounding instead of the slower paced string section.

Here are the songs I'm really enjoying:

World's Worst Landscaping
Mess it All Up
Hurley's Handouts (all from episode 4)
Ana Cries (The other 48 days)
The Gathering (Collision - best piece on the soundtrack, in my opinion. It uses snippets of the life and death album piece and also has snippets of the farewell piece used in the last season's soundtrack)
Shannon's Funeral (What Kate Did)
All's Forgiven ... Except Charlie (The 23rd Psalm - I really like the end of this one too ... it's a play off of Hurley's Handouts with the hawaiian guitar noise ... (what is that? A ukaleli(sp?)))
A New Trade (Pretty one that I dont remember from One of Them)
The Last to Know (Sun and Jin theme music from The Whole Truth ... they didn't use the Sun and Jin theme music from ... And Found, presumably because they used this music here)
Rose And Bernard (My second favorite song on the album, and my new favorite themed music, Giacchino is perfect at capturing people's moods and feelings in songs and this song just matches exactly how I feel about Rose and Bernard as a couple ... tinkling pianos, serene violins ... just an overall great piece ... oh, and it's obviously from SOS!!!)

The rest of the songs are kind of hardcore and I probably won't listen to much of them again ... but I do really enjoy these songs.

I bought this soundtrack mainly just to listen to the piece of music that plays when Desmond reads the note from Penelope and when he is putting the key into the self destruct..where is this on the soundtrack?

GerfalconCP

turok, that's a great question and one I unfortunatel can't answer fully. However, I do believe it is the second to last track of the album, "Bon Voyage, Traitor" it seems to be mixed together with the music played as Walt and Michael were leaving ... dunno why, and it is annoying but I believe that's the music. It starts at the beginning, ends around the :55 second mark and then it starts back up around 2:35 and ends again around 3:20 ...

dont ask my why they did that, I have no idea. It doesn't make much sense to me. They did that with the first season soundtracks finale episode and it pissed me off ... why can't they just make seperate tracks!?!?! URG! Hope that helps a little!

The list of season 2 songs from the soundtrack as well as when they occurred.

Thanks.

Season 2 Soundtrack songlist (http://www.amazon.com/Lost-Season-2-Michael-Giacchino/dp/B000I2IQ9M)

1. Main Title - Same as Always
2. Peace Through Superior Firepower - Desmond rushing to the ready upon hearing the explosion at the hatch. Action Track.
3. Final Countdown - The end of "Orientation," begins with Locke taking his 'leap of faith' with Helen (a subtle rendition of the classic Locke theme) and proceeds to Locke convincing Jack to press the button for the first time. Suspense Track.
4. World's Worst Landscaping - Hurley and his buddy messing with lawn gnomes from "Everybody Hates Hugo" - playful action reminiscent of the "Numbers" score not included on the S1 album. Playful Action Track.
5. Mess It All Up - Hurley's emotional climax in "Everybody Hates Hugo" where we see the reporters swarm his car in flashback. Emotion Track.
6. Hurley's Handouts - Food Distribution, a new S2 uplifting theme for Hurley. Emotion Track.
7. Just Another Day on the Beach - The crash as experienced by the Tallies at the start of "The Other 48 Days" - hints of the original Lost action theme and Lost aftermath theme. Action Track.
8. Ana Cries - Anna's moment with Eko. Lost aftermath theme. Emotion Track.
9. Tribes Merge - The conclusion of "The Other 48 Days" where the past and present meet. Heavy Tribal-style drums. Action Track.
10. Gathering - The Raft Launch theme from S1, but subtler, as Sun and Jin are reunited. Emotion Track.
11. Shannon's Funeral - Lost Aftermath theme. Emotion Track.
12. All's Forgiven... Except Charlie - Eko and Charlie pray at the conclusion of "The 23rd Psalm." Wonderful new theme for Eko, also used in "Fire + Water" for Aaron's baptism (not on album). Emotion Track.
13. Charlie's Dream - Trippy Piano-filled sequence. Suspense Track.
14. Charlie's Temptation - Way-too-brief rendition of Charlie's addiction theme from S1, but at least we finally have it (wasn't included on S1 album). Brooding Track.
15. New Trade - Sayid's theme from "One of Them" - Another S1 theme that was missing from the S1 album. I loved the more `ethnic' renditions in "Solitary," but, again, at least we finally have it! Emotion Track.
16. Mapquest - mislabeled in the CD insert, this is actually from "Lockedown" and is a brief dharma-style mystery piece. Brooding Track.
17. Claire's Escape - also mislabeled in the CD insert, THIS is the track from "Maternity Leave." Kinda hectic and cluttered, but classic Lost frenzy. Action Track.
18. Last to Know - New S2 Theme for Sun and Jin, this version from "The Whole Truth" when Jin and Sun are in the garden. Emotion Track.
19. Rose and Bernard - New S2 Theme for Rose and Bernard, I believe it's the conclusion of the episode. Beautiful, beautiful theme. Emotion Track.
20. Toxic Avenger - The rest are all from the S2 finale, "Live Together, Die Alone." This is when Kelvin drags Desmond off the beach. Trippy. Suspense Track.
21. I Crashed Your Plane, Brotha - Desmond's revelation. Suspense Track.
22. Eko Blaster - Kaboom. Action Track.
23. The Hunt - Our heroes on the run. Action Track.
24. McGale's Navy - New S2 Theme for the Others, Henry appears on the dock. Suspense Track.
25. Bon Voyage, Traitor - The end of the finale from Charlie's reappearance at the beach to the sacks being put over Jack, Kate, and Sawyers heads. A very nice theme unique the conclusion of this episode appears twice here. It is also used in the episode when Desmond turns the key, remembering Penny's letter. Emotion/Suspense Track.
26. End Title - From all episodes, this was missing from the S1 album. Action Track.

I know this is an old thread but here go's. I really like the first soundtrack but I was disappointed when they did'nt add the opening music from "Walkabout" (The part where it shows Locke's eyes at the begining and he looks down at his feet) to Locke's theme. I really liked that spooky sounding music, anyone know if they snuck it in anywhere else?
