There are not much Video Game theories out there and I say screw Resident Evil, let's look at World of Warcraft.

The similarities and concept is strikingly similar. For those of you that don't know, World of Warcraft is a huge online game which mainly pits 2 sides against each other in a virtual world for competition or casual play. A lot of the implemented additions to the game are influenced by the players, hence, the people "playing" orchestrate future events.

The interesting thing to note is that there really is no good or evil side, just two sides that believe diffrently. There are also "other" sides involved that aren't sided with the two main sides and in some cases consisting of both types of main sides.

Equivalencies:

2 Opposing Sides=Alliance/Horde(two main factions of WoW)

Others=Shadow Specs(Characters using Shadow or "dark" powers)

Hatch=Definitely a Dungeon instance

Possible Classes:

Locke=Shaman(In tune with the earth)

Jack=Paladin(Holy warrior with additional medic skills)

Walt=Druid(In tuned with animals)

Charlie=Shadow Priest

Kate=Rogue

Sun=Herbalist

Sawyer=Warrior

Sayid=Hunter(Engineering Skill)

Jin=Rogue

French Lady=Hunter

Ethan=Warlock

Basically The Island is one gigantic Battleground, the timers ticking, and everyone got there by flying into the instance.

Welcome to the Lost boards Sunder43. Please read the welcome forum and posting guidelines and enjoy the board. I haven't heard of a Warcraft theory, but don't you think that you could apply any RTS to Lost in a similar fashion?

I can definitely understand "game" theories, I just wasn't thinking video-game. My brother used to play those adventure games with some friends of his. Back in season one, before the scene where Locke is playing the war game on his lunch hour, something (can't say what) gave me the vibe that Locke might be a gamer. I called my dad (lost fanaticism is apparently genetic) during a commercial break and told him this and was told flat-out that I was insane. A couple of breaks later, he had to call and apologize to me. Bet that hurt him! The game theory makes total sense to me simply because it would be very easy to turn lost into one of those adventure games. Pick your character, find your weapons, and try not to cross the "monster!"
