I'm trying to look in the collected/archived stuff at the top of the page, and can't seem to open the links; they show me an error. So, here goes:

I realized earlier that poor old Desmond only gets maybe an hour or so sleep at a time, since the alarm keeps him from sleeping for more than 2 hours. I'd be crazy if I had to do that 24/7 too.

Really, try to imagine it, only getting little bits of sleep for months on end. It'd drive you mad.

Also, what's with all his scars/scratches? He has at least 4 that I can see, and they look a bit fresh. Interesting...

Sorry SFM, the links broke when a bunch of threads were moved this weekend. I should have it all sorted out by tomorrow.

Why does everyone seem to think that he sleeps for only 2 hours? We didn't see the 108 suddenly start counting down. I don't think every 108 minutes it counts down.

I was intrigued by the scratches. But I assumed he got them from Ms. "that's why I need 4 guns!"

Well, actually he may only get 108 minutes of sleep. Because before they blow it up. He gets woken up by it. And than it goes off when Locke is down there.. I think he is right!!

If you watch when the clock resets, the edit happens so fast that we don't see it. I wish they had SHOWN it, so we wouldn't have to think about it, but they didn't. I think it was just bad editing.

Looking at the hatch marks, I've figured that he's had to have been down there for at least 5-8 years; that, combined with lack of sleep, the serum, the canned food, and no TV or communication with others, would drive a person nutty. He's also been lied to, evidently, by DHARMA; I have a feeling he's been told that the World is dying, and that he has to stay here and enter the Numbers every so often, and to wait for his replacement, even though they knew he was not coming. OR, they know that it's Hurley, and they took thier own time, and way, getting HIM there.

Hurley is a bit of a Nutter, so maybe that will help him deal with being the "Next" guy, being in the Hole for long periods. Maybe Hurley is perfect for this job. In fact, there's lots of food, and some exercise equipment, and books, and music...what more could he want? He also seems to be reverting back to "looney" status. Who knows.
