Hi This is my first post as I have been doing alot of reading! I have a couple of thoughts that lead to a question.
I was most interested in the interview in regards to Robert Anton Wilson. In his books he speaks alot about the Illuminati. I remember reading about them in a book a few years ago so I looked it up. Illuminati in Latin means "enlightened ones". Apparently this name is used for many, many groups of people. I quess they kind of like it so they just use it. It is usually connected with secret underground type organizations.
I also learned that Robert Anton Wilson wrote about quantum physics. I then found a post about Macro Quantum Mechanics which I thought was interesting. So how does this fit together? Well, I keep thinking about the old guy(I'm pretty sure he was elderly) in the mental hospital with Hurley. He kept repeating the numbers and saying they were bad. How would he know anything about the numbers. Forgive me if this has been explained already, I really get LOST on this forum, (pun intended, hee hee).
What I am thinking is that Quantum Physics is what is used to create the theory of time travel. So, again how could the old guy know anything unless he was there? Could it be that in the 70's there were experiments, by the Illuminati, which many times are connected with secret government programs, and something went wrong? The numbers could have been a code to bring people back or something.
This is confusing even to me but let's say that Desmond, the old guy in the mental hospital and the people on the raft (the others) were all in the 70's on the island. I think I am correct in saying that quantum physics also theorize being able to move from place to place. Lets's say the old guy knew how to "move" from place to place and got away from the island. He went insain and ended up in a mental hospital repeating the numbers. Desmond, also could "move' from place to place as well as travel forward in time. If he went ahead in time he could know of the plane crash and who was on it, hence visiting Jack and saying "See, you in another lifetime." Maybe when he was holding a gun to Lockes head it was just to make sure that Jack didn't shoot him before he recongnized him. And the Others could be people left who are still trying to learn time travel (kidnapping young people) and want it for themselves and selfish gain. Desmond would be kind of the keeper of the info. not letting it get into the hands of the Others.
One other point, didn't the others seem old, or am I wrong? If they did then maybe they and the guy in the hospital all have lived out their lives as we all do, but maybe Desmond has traveled from the 70's to the present and is still "younger". I do not have tapes of any of these shows so I could be wrong on that.
So again, my question is....How could the old guy in the hospital know the numbers unless he was there?
On another note , while searching through the net, I ran across a site that is about the Illuminati. On that site they have a whole section devoted to the number 23. This is the number that the man interviewed (Damen??) mentioned. Also on that same site is a section on numerology. It is quite interesting. It tells, according to numerolgy, what each number means. It's kind of long and I am a computer illiterate and wouldn't know how to transfer it to here. But if it has not been done on another post I'd be glad to take the time. For some reason the first 3 numbers are personalities of people where the 4rd I think was magical and , the fifth (23) very special and the 6th, was something unusual also.
