It has been pretty clearly hinted that this season ends with a huge cliff hanger.
We have no idea how much "LOST" time elapses between the end of season one and the start of season two.
So what if season two begins with the survivors havng been on the island for two years already and we have to wait for the season two backstories to find out what happend during thsoe two years.

That would suck. I really hope they don't do that. Then the flashbacks we get would be...island flashbacks. Mixed with real time island scenes? It'd be too weird and confusing.

Yeah KF it would, even with those weird wind-like noises they have whenever there's a flashback.

I don't think the writers would do that, so far they have shown me that they are clever (not always but mostly). Leading us in such a direction would lost some viewer intrigue with Lost.

I don't think there will be much time 'island' time passing in between the end of season one and the beginning of season two. There's still so many character backstories that have yet to be revealed (Locke, Michael/Walt, Jack, and Kate). It wouldn't make sense if they start focusing on the time the survivors have spent on the island. I think they know it's the backstories meshing with the predicament of the survivors that intrigues us the most.

I agree with everyone on this, I highly doubt much time would pass, maybe around a month or so, between seasons.. after all, it may be months for us between when we see them, but not for them ;)

Seems to me they've been avoiding alot of big backstory stuff, saving it up. No explanation for Locke's legs, Kate's plane, where Jack's wife is (maybe stayed at home so he could deal with family), etc. Season 2 should run much like season one.

In some other threads, there is the theory of another camp on the island. has anyone considered the theory that maybe, just maybe, season two would follow their story line, which would be going on at the same time as our camp A's story-line was occuring?

I can negate the fact that season 2 will focus on another camp, but that would involve a spoiler. Just trust me, it doesn't. We're sticking with these characters for awhile.

I wonder how they'll deal with Walt, what with kids growing fast. I mean, if season 2 starts day 41, he's going to be a year older from day 1. Might be time to off walk...

*I wonder how they'll deal with Walt, what with kids growing fast.*

Malcolm David Kelley is already 13, and he is very very small for his age. He will probably always be small in stature and it shouldn't be a problem for many seasons.

it's cliche' but i wouldn't put them past doing an episode where a huge typhoon hits the island....and then of course it would uncover something else on the island, plus it would shift the sand on the beaches....maybe uncover something that was under the beach this whole time.
