Like a Liger - monster = hybrid bear?

Liger is a cross between and Male Lion and a Female tiger, the resulting hybrid cat is huge in size standing upwards to 12 feet on it's hind legs, what if the Monster is some hybrid Polar bear - with the same size proportions to the Liger - that would be one big bear.

I need my chapstick!!! Seriously though, that still doesnt explain the lack of footprints, spoor, etc, and TPTB have said that the "monster" also brought the plane down, I have a hard time imagining a 40,000 foot bear!!!

When did TPTB say that the monster brought the plane down ? Do you have a link to an article ? This would tie in nicely to the 'enormous bird' theory, don't you think ?

What are you proposing that they crossed the bear with ? A whale ? I think I am sticking with the bird idea.
