Out of the sheer boredom created in this world of reruns and slackened LOST talk, I believe that we need to have the 2005 LOSTAWAYS Hiatus Awards. While the show is on summer hiatus, let us nominate our fellow LOSTAWAYS for stuff. Like, I dunno, "Worst Theory Since Purgatory" "Most Promising Newbie" or "Wittiest Response to a Flame". What do you guys think? First, we think of categorires, then we nominate and vote.

For newbie, lets say anyone that has joined since 5/25, or after the finale. That's been our train of thought for the most part. For promising, I'd say firstly, depth of thread. Post count doesn't always mean everything. But if the newbie is writing alot of good posts, then all the better.

thanks for the welcomes, guys! well i had been trying to go on the internet less, and then somehow (really don't know how!) just stopped coming. then i went to camp for two weeks... i got back a week ago and then realized it had been so long since i had come, and, well, came! kf2, it really is nice to be back.

im glad you liked my idea, hurley. it'll take me awhile to get back into LOST mode so i think that that's about as far as my creativity is going to go for the next couple days!:D

well, hmm, the best way to explain it is like this: it is an overnight camp in the mountains of VA (so purty!) where we take short classes about conservation/nature, and we have to write mini essays for each class. but even though its academic, everyone is really fit and we go on hikes everyday and swim and look for salamanders, etc. the counselors are really awesome, and its cool b/c all the kids are normal (not geeky... well a lot are but a lot aren't) except that they are nerds about nature stuff. its cool.

I will explain it as long as this no one replies to it any further. I don't want this to be another war thread.

Basically, the split occurred after the ezhack, when some hacker messed the site up royally. There was talk by mods of ditching The Basement, the Basement people got mad and are now on their own site, but they still visit. Speaking of which, someone please tell Mr Block of Cheese that I say hi, and once I buy ezsupporter I will visit.

That is the gist of it. I bear no ill feellings towards anyone. I love everyone on this site and the new Basement. Please no fighting on this thread.

I think that's worthy of an award of some sort! I mean really! I think there may have been an unintentional double meaning in that original post. The only place I've found a timeline of LOST is here (http://www.cubit.net/lost/timeline.php) and I don't know that that person is a contributor here. KF2 will correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't know that anyone's done a timeline here on the boards, or if they did, it was prior to the ezHack/Crash. I haven't seen anything either.

For example: ----- gets the most like Jack award, or Danielle, most likely to get snuffed like a redshirt, etc.

I like it, but would we do an award for every character? Because that could be tricky to fill. How about just certain characters? Pick them on a basis of who people actually remind us of, and only those?

Any thoughts?

This reminds me of childhood games we played (why do your posts always suggest games to me, SHBL?). When we played Gilligan's island, I could never be Mary Anne or Ginger, but always had to play the professor; as an honorable and even ennobling position, I didn't mind. But when we played Mayberry RFD I was always Howard (due to my debilitating allergies and penchant for ten-dollar words).

I am sure this play-acting had a very traumatic influence on my future development.

That said, most of the candidates for Sawyer are lurking around that other site. ;)

And I'm seconding Drabaurer's nomination for the most concise poster. After drinking too much sake tonight, I'm a fan for brevity. Long winded is nice at times, but concise is always appreciated. Sorry Neil, you don't fit in this category.

This goes way back, but if I was nominating Neil for something, it would be that 116 page battle that he and another poster were going for the alpha male title. They each stole each other's icons and thoughts. Neil kicked his ass, and the beta boy left with his tale between his legs. (sentimental memories for me.) Being a fan of twins and clones, and all other kinds of unpopular and unsavory things cast off in life, I was sad to see Neil's competition leave. Oh well.

It's better to send them a PM rather than waiting for them to respond here. From what I see at the top of the "Polls" forum, it's moderated by azteclady, cccourt, ChrisBerni, and JacksGirlfriend. I don't know if the two you mentioned are able to fulfill your request. As a last resort, I'd say send a PM to Suil Liath and ask her, or as an absolute last resort, Xander. I know both Suil and Xan are mods, rather than admins, and able to do what you ask. The only reason I mention them is because I haven't seen much lately from azteclady, cccourt, ChrisBerni, and JacksGirlfriend. I know Az is on temporary hiatus from the board. I'd go with cccourt or ChrisBerni first, then resort to the mods. Just my .02. :)
