Lost In His Eyes

I got the idea for this thread by ranting about Dakota Fanning in another thread... So here's a few I can't stand:

Dakota Fanning
Kevin Bacon
Jennifer Love Hewitt

Nicholas Cage

I was going to put him, but I couldn't for the life of me remember his name! He has such a monotone voice! It drive me nuts!

Keanue Reeves has a monotone voice too, there's no emotion in his acting!

Jessica Simpson, if you can call her an actress...

Thank you for removing any doubt that I am the only person who cant stand Dakota Fanning. In a movie I hated (War of the Worlds) she was what I hated the most. If I want to see a kid screaming at the top of her lungs, I'll watch Aliens. At least that kid took part in the fighting and was important in the plot.

I 3rd Dakota Fanning.
Tobey Maguire is another actor I can't stand and I can't even tell you the reason why.
I like Jim Carrey when he's playing semi-serious roles (i.e. ESotSM) but I cannot stand his over-the-top kind of comedy.

Steve Martin

I don't know why, but everytime I see him I think "PERVERT".

Kate Blanchett I hated her character in LotR.
Leonardo DiCaprio Annoying as hell...
Lindsay Lohan I hate, hate, hate, her!
Hilary Duff Same as above!

Actor:

Orlando Bloom - his "acting", if you want to call it that, annoys the HELL out of me.

Actress:

Keira Knightley - stop making movies. please.

Ben Stiller

I'm sorry but I really don't think he's as funny as people think he is. I've watched Zoolander, Meet the Parents, There's Something About Mary, and Along Came Polly, and for each of them I couldn't stay to watch the ending. He doesn't have much of an acting range.....

He's just......not that great.

Sandra Bullock, Pauly Shore, Jessica Simpson, Russell Crowe (sorry ladies), Kate Hudson, just to name a few off the top of my head.

08-24-05, 05:09 AM
Jeff Goldblum
How can you say that! I love him! I even had an icon and sig of him for awhile.
Jim Carey
But he is over the top. That's Jim.
Kate Blanchett
How can you have hated her in LotR!? And it's Cate with a C.

I hate Clint Eastwood. I only like him in Paint Your Wagon. Otherwise, I can totally live without him.

I like to listen
08-24-05, 05:42 AM
1. Entire cast of Friends-except Matt LeBlanc.
2. Adam Sandler!

EGlVM - Clint Eastwood??? Paint your Wagon...(choking)... that this film would be his saving grace... (taking a breath and remembering 1st admendment etc..)

Sorry EGIVM - I remembered that someone had JG in theIr sIg, but hadn't seen it lately:p . He drives me nuts (not in a good way), but to each his/her own!

I'll second Russell Crowe (even as a lady).

I don't mind cate Blanchett so much, but I always Choose the Lothlorien scenes in LOTR to hit the restroom :lol

I have to add Angelina Jolie. I hate to admit that I've been swayed by tabloids, but regardless of whether she and Brad Pitt are or are not together, their hanging all over each other was pretty tasteless.

Tasteless? TASTELESS? 2 people in love is not tasteless, the tabloids living up their rectums is tasteless! You could follow around any couple in love and take pictures of them 24/7 and it would be just as over-the-top and annoying as all the Brad and Angelina coverage was. It's the media's fault for not leaving them alone and "shoving" their personal lives down our throats all the time, them spending time with each other isn't tasteless! :(

I agree the tabloids suck wind and should all be flushed -- I just meant the pictures that came out before Brad & Jennifer split up -- I feel they could've avoided a lot of heartaches if they'd waited a bit.
Maybe I just don't like AJ's smirk in every picture :lol .

I also agree about people being in love -- there was that whole "Tom Cruise is going crazy 'cause he jumped on a chair" thing going on a while ago. I'm not a huge TC fan, but all I could think was, shouldn't we be happy for them?!?

Mattie

:lol

Normally I would frown upon any male (or female) star leaving their wife (or husband) and hooking up with someone else so soon. But since it's Angelina Jolie...can we really blame Brad? I mean look at her. She's usually considered the most attractive female celebrity. It pretty much excuses Brad. :lol

The pictures from W magazine were tasteless though. That whole photospread must have torn Jennifer apart.

I have to admit I didn't like Cate Blanchett in LotR either. She really creeped me out. Although normally I don't have a problem with her.

The only one I can think of that I absolutely can't stand is that guy in Deuce Bigelo... his name excapes me.

I just really hate Jennifer Garner. I don't know why, but she really grates on my nerves.

And I agree with whoever said Nicholas Cage. Oh, and I have this irrational hatred of Ted Danson.

Can't stand:

Tom Cruise, - nutjob can't stand looking at him - but I like his cousin, Ethan
Jim Carey - retire - it's played out
Ben Stiller - can't act, like his father though
Tom Hanks - should have quit after Bosom Buddies

Kelly Rippa - Yuch! snarky catty ho
Ellen Degeneres - fake, passive aggressive narcissist
Nicole Kidman - Spooky chick! quit trying to look young, too many plastic surgeries - makes you look like a wax figurine.

I don't know why, but I have a deep hatred for Kate Bosworth. I also hate Kate Winslet. I guess I don't like actresses named Kate... :D

Oh, and I wouldn't call her an actress (although she seems to think she is one), but I detest Paris Hilton. The sight of her makes me want to throw up. On her.

A long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away?), right before the new Star Wars series began, I saw Ewan McGregor being interviewed about his upcoming role in the films. I don't have the details, but he basically said that it was fluff, and it was rather silly of people who get obsessed with the story or follow it closely,etc...

While I agree that obsession is rarely healthy (except for LOST fans :lol ), hearing him say this about a movie series (that he was about to profit from) before it even came out, well it just sucked all of my enjoymnent out of it. I never even bothered to see the last 2.

Everytime I see him on the screen now, I wonder if he's thinking that we're idiots to go see it (While he laughs all the way to the bank...). About the only thing I liked him in was Moulin Rouge.

08-24-05, 02:09 PM
^^The flip side of that, Merry Slug, is that Ewan McGregor's uncle, Denis Lawson, played the character Wedge Antilles in all three of the original Star Wars movies. It was because of his performance and the recognition he received from it that made young Ewan McGregor decide to become an actor.

So anything and everything he says to downplay the Star Wars phenomenon is really just his attempt to sound "cool and disaffected." Don't believe it.

Not sure why this thread made me laugh - a LOT of passion out there against folks! :)

I can't say I 'hate' any actors or actresses (don't really know them well enough to 'hate' them ), but ones that turn me off are like Tim Robbins, and though I like Sean Penn's work, personally he's a huge turnoff w/his arrogance etc., Guess Tim and Sean are similar that way

I just don't get Melanie Griffiths being in so many movies - she can't act, and I don't want to see her in anything (except an obscure film called Shining Through, which she didn't act well in, but the love story is great)!

SinFest
10-09-05, 04:13 PM
^I was thinking the same thing...lots of passion. :lol

I don't have any specific actor/actress that I can't stand, but those who are music performers that think they can easily cross over into acting annoy me. Some are ok, but the majority are just horrible.

I know you are all about to throw tomatoes at me, but I can't stand Al Pacino. I don't think he's had a performance worth watching since Scent of a Woman. Ever since then, he's had this unexplained habit of yelling every third or fourth word he says!

Also, I wouldn't exactly call him an actor, but any time I see Danny Bonaduce on television, I can't get to the remote control fast enough to turn the channel.

shootingstar05
10-11-05, 10:04 PM
Yeah, Al Pacino...Waaaaay over-rated.

I really can't stand:
Sandra Bullock(though her contribution to the tsunami victims was very generous)
Helen Hunt
Lara Flynn Boyle(post-Twin Peaks)
Tony Danza

I'm sure there are lots more, but those are what come to mind at the moment.

i havent watched any dakota fanning movies and hope not too. I like some of brad pitt's movies but as an actor, he really doesn't have any range, but he does pick interesting movies for the most part. Tom Cruise hasn't done anything good in a while and he really doesn't stretch himself at all anymore, maybe he never had talent to begin with.

Don't forget Vanilla Sky and Magnolia. Both have a different formula than those other cheesy movies, and happen to be the only Tom Cruise movies I like. In spite of him, not because of him!
I'm going to have to jump on the Ben Affleck bandwagon too, yuck!
I can hardly stand to watch Julia Roberts too.
