I hear it's good but movie theaters have become very expensive. Especially when you are paying for two people. So I just can't see every movie at the theater. Last week when i went, it was $17 for the 2 tickets and then another $20 for the food. Im not cheap but too many movies add up quickly.

Yah, I completely agree with you there. I get student discount, which helps some, and there's a Dollar Tree right next to our theater so we usually go there to buy candy and then sneak the food in :) .

Yeah, I don't go to the movies often anymore, but even if I did, that just doesn't seem like one I'd pay all that money to see.

Is this a Movie Theater bashing thread, now? Cuz I have a few things to say:

$10.00 and I have to wait in line and watch commercials for an hour for decent seats?

That's why I like the Arclight in Hollywood - $11.00 and you get assigned seating. No lines, no stupid commercials, and a polite usher always introduces the movie.

That being said, I'll give The Island two hooks up for having the second-best looking couple this year, after Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Scarlett Johansen in hot, and Ewan makes me wish I was a charming Scot. On the other hand, Angelina Jolie is absolutely luscious, and Brad Pitt is, and I ain't ashamed to say, a beautiful man.

Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman come in third.

I will take the Invisible Woman over all those girls.

:rollin That, was funny! :rollin Geez, I gotta get some sleep! Thanks DohBoy! :rollin

I only have to pay $6.50 for my ticket (well, that's w/ student discount, normal is $8.50).

I think Hayden and Natalie get 1st (God he is hot!)
Then Brad and Angelina.
And finally Ewan and Scarlett. Ewan just seems a little too old for me but, man, he has some beautiful eyes!

I think Hayden and Natalie get 1st (God he is hot!)They would be ranked higher on my list, but seriously, the pregnant-chick factor and the ... um ... burnt-to-a-crisp factor knocked them down a couple of knotches.

:rollin That, was funny! :rollin
Y'AARRR! Be ye laughin at me hooks? Just two words of caution, matey: keep yer hands inside the bus, and keep yer hands outside of the garbage disposal. An' don't be mixin' the two up. Y'ar. :D

I really wanted to see The Island but it was my boyfriend's turn to pick so we saw Wedding Crashers last night instead. I was pleasantly surprised. It was super funny without being super stupid. And Owen Wilson is quite yummy! :D

:lol Yummy... that's what I said and I'm sticking to it. He does have quite the nose but I think it adds to his charm. A little bit of extra character.

Its a continuaton of the series "Firefly"(which is on my top 5 tv shows ever).

Has no one watched Firefly?

CncksGirl
08-05-05, 01:45 AM
I did feigenbaum. I'm a HUGE Joss Whedon fan!

Lostaboutlost
08-05-05, 01:50 AM
Oh thanks Cncksgirl! Yes, it does look very good. I think I might have seen it before, but I'm not sure. Reminds me of Star Wars...

I've never heard of Firefly. Sorry. :(

feigenbaum
08-05-05, 01:51 AM
Way hey! CncksGirl,I now get what you meant before about 57 days, but i think its going to be longer before i see it.

CncksGirl
08-05-05, 01:52 AM
No problem :)

It's not really much like Star Wars... other than it takes place in space in the future. I guess some might say it's kind of like Star Wars meet the Wild West... only better :D

CncksGirl

Too bad for you ;)

I probably won't see on opening night either, but I am looking forward to it! The show never got the credit it deserved when it was on TV. Trust Fox to treat a decent show like crap :rolleyes

Lostaboutlost
08-05-05, 01:55 AM
Yeah, I agree, it just made me think of Hans Solo when he agreed to take Luke and Obi- Wan. A bit of a life-changing decision in disguise!

feigenbaum
08-05-05, 01:56 AM
Yeah it is awful that 2 out of 3 of Joss's shows were ended before they should have.

FB,
Did you watch Firefly?
No, but I do know that this movie is based on it. If the movie turns out as well as I think it will, I'll have to go back and watch the series. Looks really, really interesting.

Cool.Well now that im assured everyone knows what Firefly is/was/will be I'm going,

Well, technically, Star Wars takes place in the past.

But I'm totally looking forward to Serenity! I missed Firefly because of it's weird time slot or because I couldn't invest in any new TV shows at the time or something like that. But that Joss Whedon is a genius. Imagine if he teamed up with J.J. Abrams - they could rule the world!

They tell you at the beginning of each star wars film: "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."

I'll rent this on DVD - but I don't have high expectations - does Scarlet get naked?
