OMG, I agree with you.
Pennywise and Samara are frickin creepy.
PinHead from the Hell Raiser series. Those movies freaked me out. Well, until the last one in space that was more of a B-movie comedy than a horror movie.

I'm no fan of Pennywise either.

My number one is the one that can make me stay up all night. I know kinda lame, but oh well.
1.The toothfairy from Darkness Falls. I STILL dont like being in the dark. I have only seen it once and that is more than plenty for me.
2.Pennywise, I am terrified of clowns and with teeth like Pennywises' OH it gives me nightmares and I have to sleep with the lights on.
3.Samara.... Oh great now I am freaked out. I have only seen them once and that is enough for me.

Don't know if anyone even knows who this is, but there was a movie in 1978 called "Magic" and there's a ventriloquist dummy in it named "Fats the Dummy". That stupid thing scares me to death.
The dead mother in "The Grudge" is scary especially the part where it looks like her head is floating in the doorway.

Blair: (To Iran) Come and have a go if you think your hard enough
Bush: Yeah, yeah, lets ablitoratorise those terrorists, yeah, yeah. Hey Tony check out my axis of evil!!
Blair: Very good George, lets protect the free world by blowing stuff up.

Most scary??
I once watched a move (emphasis on ONCE)
CALLED ''Candy man''...
If you look in the mirror and say candy man candy man candy man 3 times, he appears.... I have YET to do this in the privacy of my own home. 8o This movie scared the sh*t outta me. :eek
I don't like 'mirror' scenes. You always know as soon as someone looks in the dang mirror, someone will appear behind them. :eek I expect it.... and yet I still jump every time.
As for the list above...I have always been deathly afraid of Michael Myers in Halloween. I think it's because he was the most 'real'. He was still alive. Jason was a farce from the second one. ''IT" scared me more when I read it than watched..Freddy Kruger was silly after the first one.. (that seems to be a repetitive theme for me:) )
Mostly, I avoid the scary stuff...cause I'm a big baby like that.

OMG!!!!!! I was about four when that movie came out, and for some unknown reason they aired a commercial for it during "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (or some other primetime Peanuts special)! That dummy gave me nightmares. It was really the only time in my life that I was afraid to sleep by myself.

10-28-05, 03:22 PM
Freddy is scarier than Jason because he spends a lot of time toying with his victims and dragging out the torment. Jason is all business. He just slashes you up and moves on. I like Jason better though because his story kinda makes you feel sorry for him. I'm glad he won.
I don't really like scary movies, but Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm street aren't that scary. If you've seen one, you've pretty much seen them all. My friend tells me that Jeepers Creepers is the scariest movie she's ever watched. I haven't seen it because I refuse to watch it after she told me about it. :)

And the guy from Saw, what's his name? Jigsaw? He has a creepy voice! The Jackle from13 Ghosts was freaky, too! There are so many characters that would scare me! :eek

Silver, that had me freaked out too!
Horrors and Thrillers are my thing. Love watching them - despite knowing that I'll be terrified. When I was younger I'd watch Halloween with the volume down!
Love the old ones - good old fashioned scare value, no special effects. Prefer Friday 13th and Halloween to the Elm Street lot. Agree that after the original, they tend to be a let down.
Jeepers Creepers started off really well but not a favourite of mine. My favourite recent horror has to be the Ring. Also liked Saw (is that a thriller though?). That girl is freaky in the Ring.
I love all of the Scream Movies too.
But scariest dude has to be Michael Myers in Halloween. Loved that one they made 20 years later too - H20 or something.
(Edited because I can't spell Michael - so what do I know!)

I'm with a lot of you on how freaked out The Ring and The Grudge made me...those Japanese horror movie remakes really get me. Especially The Ring...Somara is SCARY :eek ...and she needs a haircut. Also that image of the first girl that died that was found in the closet gave me nightmares for a month.
As far as the slasher movies go, I'm more scared of Michael Myers than Jason. I won't go near my little brother when he's holding a knife. I haven't seen Nightmare on Elm Street, so I don't know about Freddie.

But I'm jumping on board with the 'Samara is creepy' people. She creeps the hell outta me, man. I suppose that all creepy children scare the begeeses outta me. Damian from "The Omen" most of all. Also did anyone else see this past week's episode of "Nightstalker"? That kid scared the pants off of me! Basically any scary kid will be at the top of my list. I suppose it is because I love children so to see them as the bad guys really scares the crap out of me.

That's sooo true - ILTL - Because you don't see whoever or whatever it is that makes them stand there - that makes it worse. You wondered how bad it could be that they actually stayed there looking in the corner rather than try to run away.

Any movie killer that is based on a real life killer...anybody ever read about Ed Gein or Albert Fish?
Yes. Ed Gein was in Mendota State Mental Hospital until he died.
I met a a former nurse from that hospital that had him as patient in her ward for years. She said he was a "Nice quiet man, but would often stare too long."
Two things that I found very creepy about the Gein story.
1. He gave homemade jerky(deer) to his neighbors, he later testified that, he had never killed a deer, as blood disturbed him.
2. After his arrest, teenagers often had beer parties in the abandoned house of horrors, until one night it burned down.
I will not go into the grisley details of his crimes, but there is no fictional character, and not many psychos that outmatched his crimes. (that he never stood trial for BTW)
LoSt ObSeSsEd
11-01-05, 02:29 PM
Albert Fish is just as bad, ILTL! He kidnapped a little kid, took the kid home, ATE THE KID, and then mailed letters to the kid's parents about how he prepared their child for dinner, and how the kid tasted, etc. Truly horrendous!

I refuse to be a post whore!! My reply here has substance. I'm here to tell you all you are post whores! You should go to the meetings! It is my duty to redeem you!!
1) Admitted you were powerless over your post count--that your lives had become unmanageable.
2) Came to believe that a Power greater than EZboard could restore your post count.
3) Made a decision to turn your will and your post count over to the care of the Mods as you understood them.
4) Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of what you post.
5)Admitted to Mods, to yourselves and to all the members the exact nature of your wrongs.
6) Were entirely ready to have Mods remove all these defects of character, and all frivilous posts.
7) Humbly asked the Mods to remove your whorish posts.
8) Made a list of all members you had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all by letting them have a higher post count than you.
9) Made direct amends to such members wherever possible, except when to do so would actually cause your own post count to climb.
10) Continued to take personal inventory and when you are whoring promptly admit it.
11) Sought through prayer, meditation and the new search function to improve your conscious contact with Mods, as you understood them, praying only for knowledge of their will for you and the power to carry that out.
12) Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, you tried to carry this message to all post whores, and to practice these principles in all your affairs.

I didn't have any real feelings toward Ana Lucia one way or the other at first. Though she coulda been a little nicer to Sawyer.
Then when she shot Shannon, I instantly hated her, so thank god they showed the Other 48 Days episode the following week.
After this past episode I really like her. That episode completely redeemed her and why she was so edgy to shoot Shannon.
Also, she's damnd hot :9

I agree. All I am saying is that her being a beyotch has a certain degree of appeal, kind of like trying to "break" a wild horse. I want to know what stick she has up her behind and get rid of it.

Best thing since sliced bread IMHO. Personally, I talk to everyone when I have time. In chat it gets a bit confusing sometimes when you have 3 or 4 windows open at once but it's a nice feature.

The only thing she can act like is a loud mouth, abusive, ignorant, manipulative B**tch! You couldn't like her if you wanted to (which I don't) she is a waste of watching time every time she is on screen, except for eyecandy for the guys.

I think that to get many people to really dislike her character is the intended effect. ;) I personally think the character's fine - it will be interesting to see how she mixes in with the other characters, especially Jack. I wonder if A-L and Jack will butt heads or if she'll soften up. Hmm...
Not all characters on a show can be likeable. I didn't like Shannon's character at all, but it didn't turn me away from the show.

I'm for PM's and IM's. It keeps message boards or chat rooms free from conversations that only make sense between two people.
I personally don't use IM anymore. I used to use it a lot, but it got to a point where it was high maintenance to chat with certain people. I typically have the net on, but am multi-tasking with stuff around the house. When I wasn't on IM constantly with certain people, they'd get all pouty/irritated/etc. - high maintenance. I welcome PM's though, it's like dealing with email and doesn't necessarily have to be real-time interaction.

PM's in chat are ok if you've got a quick side comment to make to someone. But they can be distracting at times. Too many PM's in a chat room kind of defeats the purpose of a chat room - might as well have a separate IM session. ;)

I didn't like A-L at the beginning, but after "The Other 48 Days" I softened up to her character. It helps to understand what she went through on the island.
A lot of people are saying that she is too forceful and bossy, but I noticed that it is mostly only towards Sawyer, Michael, and Jin. In the last episode, she only took control when the other survivors put her in the leader role. Even then, she always said "we should" instead of giving direct orders. The use of 'we' completely changes the inflection and attitude of her character. She doesn't necessarily want to be in charge (like when Libby told her the guy with the hurt leg had a bad infection) but her strong nature and the other survivor's pretty much forced her in that role.

I like the PM feature in chat. A couple of times I've gone in there to ask for help posting pictures etc.. I ask can someone help..if anyone replies I usually go to a PM with them so I'm not hogging up the chat conversation with my issues. :D
I like the PM feature on the boards. I use it to bug Bekka sometimes.. LOL and if I find a common interest with someone I might PM them to see if they'd like to talk about it. You can usually tell after a couple of PM's where you get one sentence replies or short answers and no new comments that this person isn't interested in conversing with you. :(
I use yahoo and msn IM as well. I got to know quite a few people closely once upon a time that were all members of a board I was on. We dont talk much anymore, but I might say hi if I see them pop online. Most of these feature a way to block people you dont like...or appear invisable to them so they dont bug you. Then I can choose when I have free time before I strike up conversation with the ones I know are long winded. :shhh:

Remember, you are only as old as you feel, for instance I am 43, no one, and I mean no one, believes I am 43, everyone I tell my age can't believe it, most of the time when they guess it is in the early thirties. Most people think that I look to young to have kids as old as mine, I don't feel like I am 43, but the calendar says I am. I don't feel much different from when I was in my late twenties, and I am in the best physical shape I have been in ever. As far as age goes, best to not dwell on it and live everyday to the fullest.

Silver, me being comfortable all depends on the chemistry. Some people I've felt comfortable with right away, others it's taken a while, I cant really explain why, cause I dont know myself. I mean I dont mind random comments in pm. But I'm not really comfortable with someone I havent chatted in main with much pming me and getting personal. If a conversation happens, then it does, if I'm not feeling it, then it doesnt. It's usually not hard to tell when I'm not feeling it, as I'm pretty chatty, and when I'm not...then...well you get the picture. Kinda hard to explain.

Personally I hate PMs in chat. Nothing worse that typing a response in chat and finding that half of it posted in a PM pop up. Also, when most people in chat are in PM, then regular chat dies a long, slow, and painful death and many people just leave. I'd rather see the chat room full of 10 different random conversations and moving fast.

I'll turn 33 in about 2 weeks and I know for a fact that my children are conspiring to make me feel as old as possible. The 11 month old keeps me up all night, the 5 year old keeps me up all days and insist on never speaking with real words but with this weird I'm going to make you hate that you actually have ears whine and the 15 year old feels the constant need to talk about how much he loves lesibians and to say things like "Wow Ray Lewis is like 33. He's getting to old, he should retire soon."
But that's ok, I have a secret weapon, everytime they start to really make me feel ancient I go to WalMArt and buy my hubby cigarettes? Why? Because they always card me. God love 'em.
PS No matter what I just said in my rant I wouldn't trade a moment with my 3 little hellions for anything in the world, not even a date with Sawyer.

The word "old" can be an abstractive noun.
The word is "realitive".
Aches a pains are not exclusive to how many times this rock revolves around the Sun.
I see old souls that are 8yrs old.
I see old souls that do not belive they are one.
I see me.
And it has nothing to do with an orbit or pain.
Some could say that "you are as old as you feel"
Some could say that "you feel as old as you are"
Some could say remember, "the soul does not orbit the sun."
Why think of our life goverened by a chronograph?
Why consider age, when wisdom is not inherent to a calendar turning page?
No, my friends count questions and answers of your life to deternine "old."
Remember the soul...it is eternal....hence no watch is needed.

That's deep ILTL....and oh so very true.
Would I be wrong to assume such wise words have come with age?

After the Ana flashback who doesn't want to give her a hug.
Girl has grit, and she understands death.
Her test will be to understand living.
How tragic.

Yes, AL understands death well...and killing...cold-blooded, methodical killing.
I'm just saying.
