I'm not going anywhere, either. Between the Big Hack, the summer haitus and the locking of the basement things are going to be slow around here for a while, so I figure that I'll do what I can to help things get going again. Somehow, this thread seemed like a good step.

I thought of starting this thread earlier but didn't. Now that I see more and more of the original board going away, it's a good idea. In fact, if we keep it up at this pace, we could just completely do away with the past remnants of the board. It'll all be done over and it could save the mods a lot of headaches. Oh well, just my .02.

Anyway, hey all, Leuthen here! FWIW it's pronounced "Loythen" for any curious.

I joined LOST-TV in January. I came here after I decided to stop trying to figure this show out by myself and I haven't left since. I've gained more of an appreciation for LOST because of this board than the show itself. They're both a tie for first in my book.

I enjoy reading everyone's posts, thoughts, theories, speculations, etc. LOST's fan base is incredible in their knowledge and brainstorming. It never ceases to amaze me! :)

Disclaimer - I apologize in advance if my sometimes ill-fated attempts at humor offend anyone! :) I'm a smart-ass by nature and I will not attempt to censor that here. Please do not take anything I say personally! If I want to offend you, it'll be overly-obvious, trust me! :) That said, it's never happened yet and it would take something of biblical proportions for me to do so. Even the seemingly never-ending purgatory posts haven't done it, yet! I'm just here to have fun and talk about LOST! I promise! :)

By the way I have been here since mid-Decenber, and have been shooting my mouth of the whole time and the mods haven't banned me yet, although Azteclady did once suggest that I not be so directly challenging towards a poster who I felt had intentionally misconstrued my words. (She was right. I handled it poorly.)

P.S. to Leuthen: I just found your Memorial Day post in the ruins of the basement. My father served for 21 years in the Navy and made two cruises with the Gulf of Tonkin Yacht Club.

I'll just say that I'm a teenager, and am pretty teenagey. I have a million teenage problems I wish very badly would go away.

what's left? i'm an only child and I live with both parents. The favorite times in my life are during our few trips to Europe. I like LOST a lot:D .

I, like Leuthen, went in search of answers because I couldn't figure it all out myself - and I couldn't BELIEVE this site at first! It was EXACTLY what I needed!!:D :D :D
(btw - some of the people who post in Theories and Speculations are freakin GENIUSES - Pinnerman, drabauer, and chancegardener are a few of the REALLY intelligent ones off the top of my head with MUST READ theories!!)

After Walkabout I began lurking, and after Deus Ex Machina, I began posting. I absolutely LOVE the games in the Lostaways section - you will find me there often.

I am also doing an in-depth analysis of the entire first season, which I have on discs, so I won't have to wait for the reruns.

As of now, I've only completed my first runthru of the season, but I found MANY interesting things. Most of these I've discovered have been discussed already when said episodes aired originally. So with all my new info, I'm gearing up for my next LOST marathon, and will report back with anything NEW.

Soonoer or later I will figure out this avatar thingy, and have one too.

I was never a huge fan of the basement but I think I will miss some of the people that used to post there. I just hope that this board does not turn into some other sites I have been on. I've been on the board almost since the beginning (I think I found it a few days before the pilot premiered) but don't get to post too often as I am kept very busy being a full-time mom to two little girls, ages 4 and 2.

I am 27 years old, live in Utah, and am an aspiring novelist. I'm also a spoiler junkie and spend most of my available time on that board, which is why I've never been to this one yet. But I'm sure I'll be here more often now that the spoilers are few and far between for the summer.

You really don't want all the dirty details. Here's the short and quick version.

"Others" (outside of this board) came here and caused trouble. That coincided with, but did not cause, all of ezBoards getting hacked and sending over 9000 individual boards into total chaos. That brought about some unpleasantness here, to say the least. The Basement and most, if not all, who once inhabited it, moved.

There's a lot, and I mean a lot, that I'm leaving out. This is just to catch you up to speed. I'm not taking sides, just giving you the quick and easy, so to speak.

No you're not! You're addicted to spoilers just like the rest of us. :) Just because you know what's supposed to happen doesn't diminish your viewing, at least not for me. Besides, the spoilers I read aren't even that specific. They're just vague enough to pique your interest. I only view one site anyway (Spoilerfix) so I can't speak for the rest, if there are any. I haven't looked for them. I found Spoilerfix looking for another show and found LOST there as well.

From what I read in Suil's "Moderator Recruitment Time" thread, they can list which forums they'd like to moderate. I guess with that, they could opt out of certain threads (Spoilers) if another is willing to do it? Just a thought, I ain't one so I have no idea. Guess it comes with the territory.

I did opt for spoilers as a forum I'd like to moderate, because at the time I was into them. But there's a mod right now who reads spoilers besides me and other new ones will be coming, so I might try to avoid them. I probably won't, but I do want to try. Last season I knew so much, even if minor! I can't imagine having NO CLUE where the show is going. No hints at direction whatsoever. I think it'd be pretty exciting!

Well here's to hoping you get that wish! :) Spoilers never really meant/mean much to me anyway. S1 of LOST proved that. If you put your faith into what you're supposed to see, you'll miss the show entirely. I only view them as a sort of...hmm....Cliff's Notes, if you will. They don't mean squat without the background so they cannot stand alone.

I lost my faith in spoilers in S1 when it was mentioned that someone was going to die. Then the next thing we heard was "it's a huge character." Obviously I thought it was Hurley, I'm shallow like that. :) Sue me! Then, when it was all said and done, it was Boone. I never thought of Boone as a "huge character" so there's definitely something in the translation, if you will. I like to read them for their humorous qualities. If nothing else, they're good for a laugh from time to time but I don't put any faith in them at all. Even if JJ himself came on the air and said, "We're killing Locke off on next weeks episode!" I'd want a carcass to prove it! I wouldn't believe it 'till I saw it and, in the case of Boone, probably not even then.

Spoilers serve the same purpose that the Oceanic-Air commercials on ABC do, they try to hook you, give you a reason to watch. Well, I don't need a reason other than it's Wednesday and, thankfully this season, 9pm.

It took the name change of one of our webmasters and a couple of PMs from TP to finally make me talk myself into it last December.
