When Jack, Kate and Charlie return from their trek to the cockpit in episode 1, Boone asks if there were any survivors (right after Sayid and Sawyers fight). Jack shakes his head and says no.

Later after the Polar Bear is shot, Boone asks "do you think that's what killed the pilot?".

How did he know the pilot was killed if Jack, Kate and Charlie didn't tell him?

First time posting so i'll throw out a couple other quick-hit theories...

1) I don't think Ethan is Alex...i think he is Brendan (sp?)

2) I think alex is A.L.E.X. like many others.

3) ALEX is an experiment, perhaps a genetic combination of animals.

4) The ship is on the other end of the cable.

5) The ship's name might be Black Rock

6) I think the Others that whisper are perhaps a failed experiment that escaped after the shipwrecked.

7) The big monster....there is more than one.

8) I don't think the others that were with the French lady are not all dead. I think they are elsewhere on the island and Ethan is one of them.

9) Adam and Eve were not part of the French group...they were there before the French ship crashed.

10) Sawyer is going to end up being good....real good....hero type good.

11) Perhaps the stones are the "keys"

12) Other kids on the island? Didn't Jack find a doll in the water in the cave? How does a part of a plane crash find it's way into the caves? It looked old as well.

13) Oh, and i don't think the secret Locke told Walt is that he used to be crippled....i think he told him something else. What? I don't know.

14) Why does Boone keep telling people he has different jobs...Lifeguard, wedding planner type thing...

15) The French lady said "ship"....she never said "boat" did she?

16) Rose's husband and many of the people from the back of the plane are alive and on the other side of the island...but they're for next season.

17) For the record i think purgatory, aliens, the truman show, and the next Hitler or Antichrist are all terrible plot lines that would lose many viewers...including this one.

There...i feel better now. Sorry for bringing up a lot of stuff im sure was already said (but i haven't see anybody bring up the Boone thing yet)

Hi!

In response to:
14) Why does Boone keep telling people he has different jobs...Lifeguard, wedding planner type thing...

I think that Boone might be a chronic liar. Because saying he's a Lifeguard to Jack, and then the Matrimony business to Locke doesn't really add up.

Take Care and God Bless,

you can just take a class to become a lifeguard. even if you choose a different profession later on, you're still a lifeguard.

for instance, i took bartending classes. i am a bartender. if we were on the island and i was making drinks, i would tell them i was a trained bartender. just as he was a trained lifeguard.

however my job is a chef. if somebody asked what i did in the real world, i'd say i was a chef. it is possible to be many things.

and even so, i think lifeguard and marriage thing DO add up. the marriage thing shows that his family is wealthy and lifeguarding is a popular summertime job for wealthy kids in particular. i dont see what the fuss is about.

i was wondering about the whole "monster that ate the pilot" thing too when i resaw the pilot episode. i was like wait a second... do you think that maybe that was just a mistake by the writers? (seems unlikely for them to make mistakes though) or maybe in a deleted scene the ones who had seen what happened to the pilot told the people on the expedition to find high ground about the monster. but yeah, i was definitely wondering about that too.

i think sawyer will do his good deeds. i think everyone will. they dont seem to be making anyone particularly good or particularly bad. i bet everyone will get the chance to do something heroic.

i dont think the others or the people in the other half of the plane are dead, either. i wonder if maybe the doll or whatever was from one of the "others" or whatever we wanna call them.

I agree with akg

I think that when Boone said that's he a lifeguard, he meant that he had the training to be one not that he is a lifeguard fulltime.

Didn't boone say he used to be a lifeguard...doens't mean he's currently a lifeguard. He mentions this twice, once in the pilot and once after the girl drowns

Also after the girl drowns he says he runs a business...that doesn't conflict with what he told Locke

as far as the doll..it was part of the plane wreckage that didn't make it all the way to the beach...remember his fathers coffin? It was just a crappy doll that fell out along with a bunch of other luggage like charlies guitar that was found in the SAME AREA by the caves

As far as Boone knowing about the pilot...I think it was in a deleted scene that they mentioned to the rest of the group what happened becuase Charlie/Kate don't seem allarmed he knows and the others don't seem startled either by this information.

I think its the same kind of thing where they were on the golf course and they told micheal about the polar bear and hurley wasnt there either but he didnt look surprised about the polar bear so im just assuming that we;re to think that the ppl talk amongst themselves without us seeing it sorta thing.
