This is the definition of HUGE Spoiler!

I love hearing about spoilers, and this even made me feel like I might have just gipped myself.

Well, if Boone finds this plane, I wonder(1) what type of drugs, and(2) when did it crash? Any bodies?

And will the drugs temp Charlie to start up again...after all he's not feeling too good about himself last we saw him.

yea and its not like he's had any temptation before now... dun dun dun.

those pictures were good the one of the hatch thingy was odd. Was it buried there? or was it laying on the ground for so long that the sand and foliage grew up around it? *ponders* Oh and hurley and the rope bridge? Is that where he goes off on his quest for danielle?

That "hatch thingy" looks like it has been escavated by the castaways. Man, that doesn't look like anything of this earth. Otherwise, it's a massive US government project that was abandoned.

Man, those pictures sure do shed a lot of insight into things.

Good find. Definitely better than those annoyingly vague Kristen "spoilers".

It looks like that plane hadn't been there all too long. I wonder if it predates flight 815's crash, crashed very recently in relation to the time of the episode the picture is from, or possibly even was part of a mid-air collision that brought both planes down.

I suppose Charlie might end up haveing a reason to complete his turn to the Dark Side, if the plane contains "fun" drugs, which would make more sense than pharmeceuticals.

It also seems like Locke and Boone will enlist the help of other survivors to escavate around the hatch. I'm surprised the tow of them haven't at least probed the ground around it to determine how large the structure is beneath, but then again I am surprised at a plethora of things the survivors have been too apathetic to do. It looks like beneath the hatch is a vault, or an airlock to an even larger structure below, and was either cconstructed relatively recently or is made of surgical stainless steel. Then again, maybe the submarine or "Tommyknockers" theorists may be on to something. Of course, both the hatch structure and crashed prop plane may not have been weathered properly by the crew before being photographed.

I sincerely hope that rope bridge is not going to break merely because it's Hurley who's about to cross it. That may be realistic as far as structural engineering goes, but to me it would seem a bit sophomoric.

P.S. What if the hatch does lead to an alien ship, or better yet a probe, and the survivor's meddling with it trigger a signal to be sent back to its homeworld, telling the inhabitants that the palnet it was sent to is now suitable for terraforming? Awakening from their multi-million year stasis, the Martians launch an invasion force to begin The War of the Worlds. The joke's on us, the whole season has been one big infomercial for the Spielberg/Cruise flick in an effort to make it the biggest Summer blockbuster ever.

If we're lucky, the PTB will let the survivors keep on surving, oblivious in their remoteness to the largest military confrontation our solar system has ever seen.

And the thingy in the ground. Looks like it would be from space. That would be so crazycool.

You know what that plane looks like? It looks like a Lockheed Electra. That's the sort of plane Amelia Earhart was flying when she disappeared. The cockpit windows on this one look a bit different but it has the same sort of twin tail assembly and twin engines with two bladed props. The paint scheme is not right either, but this plane could still be in preparation for shooting so that might not mean anything. The differences are really things you need to be comparing photos to see.

I wonder if the 'drug' angle is just a red herring that allows them to feed the buzz about the show with spoiler pics without actually spoiling things correctly.

If it is an Electra, perhaps it will further substantiate my theory the the two bodies in the caves are Amelia Earhart and Frank Noonan.

I've tried to figure out how to post those pictures so you could see them, but I can't figure out how to post a picture on this site. Maybe someone who know how can post them for you. While they are at it....tell me how to post the picture step by step Please!

It's interesting, but.................

Even the official promo pictures don't really tell what's going to happen with very much accuracy. For example, go to the pictures page on the lost-tv site and look at the promo pics for the "Outlaws" episode we saw last night. Find it here:

www.lost-tv.com/pictures/...p?album=32 (http://www.lost-tv.com/pictures/thumbnails.php?album=32)

There are pictures showing Shannon and Locke together. Never saw it. There are pictures showing the "boys" hanging out around the boat. Never saw it (in fact, there was virtually nothing about the boat). Maybe half of the pictures released by ABC to promote this episode simply didn't reflect what we saw in the finished product.

We're assuming that we know that someone burns Michael's boat, and that Jin is accused, all based on promo pics for the "Outlaws" episode, but none of that happened in this episode. I wouldn't take promo pics as gospel.

definately not the same plane.. but a cool theory. funny how the dead couple and he stones have not been mentioned.. i wonder if that plot line is dead ???http://www.remoteviewing.com/remote-viewing-projects/amelia-earhart/images/electra.gif

drypelia - I think those promo pics you're referring to are supposed to be in next week's ep - In Translation. I don't think they were supposed to be in this episode at all.

But sometimes, one or two pics do sneak in that are just posed shots that are either extra or edited out. But none of them on lost-media ever contain captions.

I am very excited about those upcoming storylines!

It looks to me like maybe the hatch thing could be a missile silo. France does nuclear testing in the South Pacific.

Bumping, now that we found out something INTERESTING about that hatch.

Not to mention there's still that plane to consider.

Those Pictures have been on the spoiler page for at least a month.... you DIDN'T FIND THEM:evil

FYI That's a Beechcraft Model 18, produced from 1937 to 1969 but still in service...obviously. Its range varies from 620nm to 1330nm depending on exact type. As a drug plane the first guess whould be Columbia, but I'm sure Hawaii and other islands do their share of manufacturing.

Beechcraft Model 18 (http://www.pilotfriend.com/aircraft%20performance/Beech/model%2018.htm)

On the DEA website you can find info about the South Pacific drug trade...everyone click on it...the DEA will think someone is boning up in preparation for a shipment. :D Just kidding DEA!

DEA site (http://www.dea.gov/pubs/intel/04012/04012.html)

Also, I think this spoiler might give a third radius to narrow the island location. See Here (http://p073.ezboard.com/flosttheunofficalforumfortheabcseriesfrm29.showMes sageRange?topicID=1424.topic&start=61&stop=71).

Surely someone wants to discuss the plane? Or does everyone want to wait until the episode? :(

sawyerhasbestlines
03-17-05, 08:36 PM
Coyote,

I'm seeing this plane for the first time. Now let's discuss.

2005 - 40 years = 1964.

Now does that fit in with Adam and Eve, and Jack's uncanny ability to guess how old bones are?

Coyote1066
03-17-05, 09:36 PM
I think I read somewhere on this board that this is Ethan's plane. This statement seemed to be confirmed with inside info. I'll have to check. It seems Ethan was a drug courier for someone and crashed on the island.

I haven't had time to try to locate his point of origin yet, but I did measure the distance from Columbia to where we think the island is. It's way to far away unless he refueled at some point.

Anyway, since these planes are still in service today, it figures that Ethan could have crashed not too long before flight 815, a few years or months maybe. So he's a relatively new resident and not one of the original "others".

so.. if Ethan was from canada, and was flying drugs...
Boone just found a few pounds of pot !!!

He's probaly from Scarborough ! We have lots of grow-ops here, one is found on every street, every day.

I think i'm kidding...

actually I think it would offer a chance for Lost to show some humor..
Think of how easily everyone would be able to experience a
"boone doping" situation.

You could show everyone getting together and laughing, then introduce the monster roaring in the distance as in the pilot, and have everyone just roar back at it, chase IT even...
c'mon they're high ! they'd get munchies and go running into the woods for fruit to fry plantain chips.

Man I wanna go there !!

maybe thats why Boone found them first, the island gave it to him in a way so he could "canvas" for Locke.

okay, I'm not kidding anymore.

If Ethan was a drug courier what made him decide to kidnap Claire and try to kill Charlie? What made him all hostile like that? He just flipped?

Coyote1066
03-17-05, 10:09 PM
I think he got sick like Danielle's team. Maybe her team became obsessed with her son Alex which lead to her killing them.

Or he had really bad munchies, to go along with Yung. :D

accygirl
03-17-05, 11:04 PM
Well, maybe Ethan is doing some freelance work for the bad guys, who wanted Claire's baby for some reason.

sawyerhasbestlines
03-19-05, 03:26 PM
Well, if it's Ethan's plane, he would have a co-pilot. So who would that be?

If it's a false rumor that it's Ethan's plane, then it must be Adam and Eve's plane.

Coyote1066
03-24-05, 08:32 AM
Well, I guess the Ethan statement is out. I was surprised to see this thing flying...I can't wait.

hppydppy1
03-24-05, 01:51 PM
maybe the "drug" of choice is locke's "potion'?? (what he put on boone's head). mighty powerful stuff for some rogue country to use to get info from people or control people. so that would mean locke went there to stop the one's who want it? to battle them? he plays good mind games.

Maybe it IS Ethan's plane and he did traffic drugs. Maybe he was on an LSD trip or a PCP trip or some other kind of "super-man" drug the first time he ran into Jack and co. that would explain why he was so strong the first time and not so strong the second time. Claire could have escaped during his come down thus explaining why it was so easy for her to do so. Also speaking of Jack and his flying credentials, does anybody think he could have been the third pilot? I know it sounds lame but he seemed to know Chrissy, the ticket lady unless he just checked her name tag out. Do they wear name tags? It could also explain why he was so far away from the crash maybe he ran up to the cockpit to see if he could help. Why else was he so far away from everything when Rose was right by the wreckage?
