The *dead* Pilot returns for the Season Finale

Sorry if this is posted elsewhere....evidently the pilot who was ripped out of the cockpit by the "monster" in the 1st or 2nd episode has been asked to return for Lost's season finale.

Might it be only in a flashback capacity? Or will his appearance serve to confuse and frustrate us as a cliffhanger as the season comes to a close?

On spoilerfix, it says that the season finale will go back to when they were first on the plane. So, I would guess the pilot will be in a flashback. Hopefully we will get some answers about what caused the plane to go off course and crash.
