I think that He could have been either just a person who was stranded on the island and "got sick" or Danielle child, Alex.

if I remember correctly, wasn't Alex born on the island? I might be wrong here, but I think she said he was, and she got "Lost" 16 years ago, making Ethan way to old, I might be wrong, but I voted for the Adam and Eve option, because he didn't speak with a French accent, which I think Alex or most of the rest of her party would have.

Tanner its never been said if Alex was born on the island or if he/she was WITH Danielle when they crashed.

I have a different story on Ethan as well. I'm really sorry if this is posted elsewhere. I JUST read the board for the first time this morning and wow...there is too much to read in a short period of time!

Admittedly, I missed a few shows here and there mid-season due to being an idiot and forgetting to set up the DVR, so I've been catching the past few weeks re runs. The recent re run of Jack's flashback, shows the pregnant woman's husband in the hallway of the hospital and hes talking about sueing. TO ME, that looked like Ethan from a distance.
And the fact that he wanted Claire (and her baby) would make sense, as he lost his wife and unborn child.

But..that would mean that they are really not "alive" on that island, but I guess I sort of assumed that a few shows into the season. Can you say purgatory?

I don't think he's any of those things. I think what/who he
is has yet to be discovered.

I don't think Ethan is Danielle's child for the fact that I firmly believe Alex is a girl. Danielle pussy-footed around the subject of wheather Alex was a boy or girl, saying neither. Since it would be obvious that Alex is a boy's name or most people would assume so, I say girl. I believe he is a member of another crash. And he suffered from the "sickness" as well.

I swear Danielle said Alex was a girl and used the pronouns she and her. I think it was when she was talking to Sayid but I don't have any of last season's episodes recorded. I agree Ethan is older than 16 too.

Er....... does Ethan looks 16 years old to you?? I'm confused... hasn't it been 16 years since Danielle's gang arrived on the island. Danielle was either pregnant and about to have the child 16 years ago or you're guessing she had a 20 year old baby by that time...;)
