Why is there only one thread allowed per episode????

I hate one thread 200 posts long.... I would perfer one thread per subject per episode.. That way I don't have to read 200 posts to see if my answer or question "might" be there.. Besides..

I think that would also make the board much more dynamic if the board was structured that way...

The way I see it...

Additional threads are allowed as long as they are focused on a specific topic brought up by an episode. There just can't be more than one general topic. For initial reactions and discussion of the episode as a whole I do prefer one thread.

I'd have to agree with this.

I tend to agree with opening one thread the night the show airs. That way we can all go in and say "Awesome", "I loved the kiss", blah, blah, blah. Most of us aren't even thinking much after the episode first airs (except Pin of course). One thread is perfect for our initial gut reaction. After the first couple hours though I think it makes sense to start opening threads so we can have some serious discussions. I rarely even read the initial threads until I have a couple of hours on the weekend.

Most of the initial threads are not posting theories, speculations or character development, so I don't see the problem. Once you have an idea or an inspiration start a new one.

I do allow multiple threads, but sometimes individual threads are just about basic questions like what happened. The problem is that often, multiple users ask the same question.

also people going through a ton of diifferen posts sucks up bandwidth so if most of them just say "OMGSQUEEILOVE________" there's no point and its expensive.

so you would rather look through a bunch of posts in SEPARATE threads instead of all the posts within one thread? I definitely think its easier to keep it to one...otherwise people will waste bandwidth repeating the exact things said in another thread...it would be harder to keep track of all the theories. I think its more organized at one.

I am an ez supporter.. I can click on a million threads and it doesn't cost this board anything.. I pay only about 13 american a year.. Great deal...

Yes I can scan titles to threads, a lot faster than rooting through a very long thread..

If you have a complete thought with some insightful tidbits, post a new thread. If you want to know if anybody else thought Shannon looked fat, do not open a new thread.
General rule if your new thread is less than three sentences long don't open it.

We do have separate posts for different theories or other things in this section and the theories section, but like Baron X said, if you only have a few things to say, why start an entirely new thread right?

And most people here aren't EZ supporters so it'll cost bandwidth for the board for everyone else...

I think it is a very practical idea to have two or three main threads to discuss episodes, I, not unlike the started of this thread, don't wish to read through all the posts to post my own.

In fact... I don't really even bother posting on those threads, to many (like 'Master' said) less thought provoking thoughts than I like to supply in them.

I don't post too much, just chat in the chatroom, but I agree with Xander and Baron about opening new threads for new ideas, and using the episode thread for general things. I usually just check out the General Board, but I have some questions about Danielle, so I may check out the Theories Board, because I might be able to find some answers there.

Keep it one thread per episode!
It would be confusing to have multiple threads
discussing one episode.

Definitely allow multiple threads per episode but organize them into subforums so episode threads aren't mixed.

I don't know if it's possible with ezboard but if it's not... then it should be as a lot of other popular bulletin board scripts feature subforum access.

Keeping up with 5+ pages of one thread is difficult enough, let alone 20+ pages. I have found that I usually reply to threads that are in readable fashion. Any longer of a thread and I would feel like I'm jumping the gun on everyone having a linear conversation.
