Enough is enough people! We know they are not dead, so lets stop talking about it and save Master Xander some bandwidth.

Who is with me?

I'll puke but it may be from the paint chips. I deliberately seek out old buildings with the leaded paint, and every now-and-then I get lucky and find one with the dull purple psilocybin paint.

In any case, purgatory was my first theory before I ever saw the show ( I would have been the second person at all the major boards to post it, but three is not a winner and two no one remembers), but I gave it up after realizing how trite it was and how no network, no matter how esteemeed the show's creators, would invest in a tentpole show in which all the characters are dead.

I'm a little disturbed by the percentage of posters here who freely admit to eating paint chips....

Is it just me, or does anyone else picture little Ralph Wiggum from the Simpsons walking up and saying "I eat paint chips!" in his high-pitched, squeaky voice (and then proceeding to do just that).

WC: You can never have enough paint chips and dip. A definite must for gatherings of all kinds.

As far as my posts go, all of them were unusually brilliant, don't you think?

Any further discussion of purgatory should be able to find a home in one of the 67 existing threads. Reviving an old thread is not a crime!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programme, "Paint Chip Cooking With JacksGirl".

Today we're making Paint Chip Cookies, a delicious blend of both hot pink and dark brown paint chips. I guarantee after one taste you'll be off and running - posting on every thread in this board. As you could tell.. I've had several already today.

The down side is all of your posts will be irrelevent and slightly off-kilter and may actually inspire the wrath of those attempting to discuss the seriousness of the thread. The up side is... you really won't care!!

I am not crazy about the Purgatory storyline that others see threaded throughout this series. But then again I’m not sure what circumstance they really are in. I remember hearing Charlie saying to Kate just when he had escaped from the monster on the first episode, something like this:
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Kate says: “Did you see it?”
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Charlie replies: “No…No…it was right there, we were dead, I wasn’t and then Jack came back and pulled me out I don’t know where he was.

First of all what did he mean when he said, “…we were dead…” then he corrected himself by saying, “…I wasn’t…”? Because at that point he was alone, Kate was far ahead and Jack hadn’t come back to rescue him yet? Just a little food for thought for this Purgatory site.

“…Guys, where are we?”

mule i agree with you. I know we can't discuss this purgatory but it's hard not to. The ones that "survived" had things to clean up and once they do they cross over. But we are not talking about this theory anymore so I did not just type that.:rollin

First of all what did he mean when he said, “…we were dead…” then he corrected himself by saying, “…I wasn’t…”?
He said "We were dead, well I was." And I think he meant that the monster seemed to be right behind him and would have killed him if Jack hadn't saved him.

I have just listened to the conversation between Kate and Charlie a dozen times (thank goodness of Tivo) and I am sure that he says, “…we were dead, (pausing, then saying) I wasn’t…” either way how can Charlie saying “…we were dead…” mean anything less than they weren’t alive. Who was the “we” that he was talking about? The Monster was right there, while Kate and Jack were definitely far enough ahead of Charlie that if any predatory animal were hunting them down, it would be Charlie that he would have caught first, making a meal of him before pursuing the others.
I have heard from a number of people that have faced death, either in battle or by accident. At the moment they feel like death is upon them and in the grim reapers hands, their lives flash before their eyes in a matter of seconds, literally experiencing, smelling, tasting every single moment of their lives. Could this be what Charlie was experiencing and remembering when he paused for that brief moment while explaining to Kate the near death incident that he had just experienced?

I dont mind discussing Purgatory but in the official thread. Purgatory on this board is like nuclear power. Both should be kept in one inescapable location.

NO way... keep purgatory alive!!

Look, if TPTB can come out and say "yes there really was a plane crash" and we still have people thinking there never was a plane crash; why do we rule out purgatory just because TPTB said it's not purgatory?

But paint chips come in such festive colors and the ones with lead are so tangy.

Question. What if I hate purgatory theories and eat paint chips? I most definately agree with Noav. The festive colors are quite irresitible.
