Season 1 has been on netflix for quite a while. Season 2 is going to be released on September 2, 2016.

I wasn't really all that familiar with Pablo Escobar until I watched the first season. Hard to believe that at his peak, he was one of the 10 wealthiest men in the world. Apparently he would write off 10% of his money each year (about $2.1 billion!) because the rats would eat it, it would be lost or it would be damaged by water:eye-poppi.

I have to say up front that the show is not for everyone. It is extremely violent and some of the scenes are downright disturbing. A big part of it is in Spanish with subtitles. It those things don't bother you, you should check the show out. The acting and production values are amazing. The story is excellent and I found myself googling stuff after each episode because I didn't think what had happened in the episode actually took place (it did!).

Looking forward to the second season. I'm going to try to get through the first season again before the new season premieres.

Season 2 was very good. I was afraid that there would be a let down after the first season and wasn't sure how much of Pablo Escobar's story was left to tell, but turns out that there was a solid season's worth.

Incredibly violent, gritty, entertaining show. Can't say enough good things about it.

I just realized last night that the guy that plays the DEA agent Pena (Pedro Pascal) is the same guy that played Oberyn Martell in GoT. He was great in GoT and he's excellent in this as well. As good as Pascal is, the guy that plays Pablo Escobar is even better - he deserves some Emmy consideration.

If you are interested in Pablo Escobar's story or the Columbian Cartels, you have to watch this show.

It's already been renewed for a third and fourth season. Pablo Escobar's story arc is done, but they set up Pena going after the Cali Cartel in the next season.

Season 3 premieres September 1, 2017. Curious to see how good it will be without Pablo.

No sign of her, but Lito from Sense 8 and Newman from Seinfeld have made appearances.

This show has mostly been off my radar but I may check it out in the next couple of weeks. Lots of people seem to love it.
