I liked it! :Hippy: :Cowdance:

Although, I didn't particular like the jumping around in time. :rolleyez:

They showed the initial bombing, with Ted Kaczynski (Paul Bettany) providing narrative. Then they showed Jim Fitzgerald, Fitz's (Sam Worthington), graduating from Quantico's Behavioral Science Unit (BSU).

I didn't expect all of the back-biting between the FBI agents. There's an apparent hierarchy, with agents at the top trying to keep Fitz in his place doing what they ask. He fights against this until he's proven right.

Definitely looking forward to the remaining episodes.

Mr Mo, I was actually surprised at the low number of killed. Hopefully, I didn't sound like I was minimizing the impact of the dead. :sorry:

Yeah, he almost brought the whole country to a stand-still.

I'm still on board. :Hippy: :Cowdance:

I'm truly learning a lot of things from this series, including what I didn't know about the unabomber case.

We were introduced to a woman from the first two episodes, and we found out in this episode how she fit into the story. It's obvious she and Fitz had an affair.

Re: Manhunt: Unabomber - Discovery Tuesday

From little i saw, it was a little heavy on the procedural stuff, which normally i don't mind, but in this case i'm more interested in the story of Ted himself, and David and his wife (whose name escapes me for the moment); as well as the aftermaths caused by his attacks. It would be very interesting to see a study on how he changed our culture, too, because before him, Luddites were generally seen as harmless pastoral Amish-type people, while afterward Luddites get to be the eeeevil antagonists in literally tons of TV shows and movies.

I don't really care about the FBI's 15 years of fumbling and flailing, no matter what the individuals involved were like.

Truly sorry to say, this series has already lost me. I had high hopes.

I've started watching this. I think it's important to note that this is based on fact, but dramatized. I take it's adherence to the whole truth and nothing but the truth with a grain of salt. Being dramatized, I expected it
to be heavy on the personal aspects of the case. Plus,
Ted's story has been told many times. I think all along the intent was to concentrate on the detectives side and the dramatized personal impact the case had on those people.

For now... I'm still in. I an wary though because it could go the way of Aquarius which strayed so far from Manson that I felt misled, and quit watching before its merciful cancellation.

How did I forget to comment on this episode? :rolleyez:

I'll be back!

ETA: The Head of the FBI Tash Force took a big chance, although he had nothing else when he met with Reno. It didn't take him long to throw "Fitz" under the bus. Told him to pack his things, he was sending him home.

Speaking of Fitz...When his wife came to visit and saw the female academic helping her husband, she knew something was up. Now, I don't know if their affair was already in progress, but women know stuff like that. :rolleyez:

Re: Manhunt: Unabomber - Discovery Tuesday

Could you do it? Could you turn in a relative? If yes, what would be the circumstances?

Fitz just screwed his former partner, Tabby. But, that shouldn't surprise us with what he did to his kids.

Took them to the movies, got a call from Tabby with info on a possible suspect (Ted Kaczynski). Leaves his kids at the movies to get a fax, and it's 4-hours later when his wife finds him. He thinks he's been gone 20-minutes. Just damn!

I thought it was Natalie who caused his split with his family, but he became fixated on the case. It totally overwhelmed him. Took every waking minute of his life, until "it" became his life.
