The clever thing TPTB always do is reveal something without really revealing a lot about it. Yes, we now know that Smokey is Flocke and probably the man in black, but have we learned all there is about him? Not even remotely...but I expect we'll know everything by the end.

I love the revelation that Smokey at least seems to be our villain because it has been around since the pilot episode. This aspect of the story, at least, I believe they had planned out all along and I really feel close to the answers considering what they showed us in the premiere.

The reveal of what/who smokie is, maybe the biggest reveal yet seen? Maybe, but a lot of us kinda guessed haha.

I now believe I have to add this because I never thought of Smokes. MiB = Flocke = Smokes hence Smokes and MIB are one in the same and can transfigure to whoever they want.

I'm just going to be difficult here and say I don't think Juliet did flash to 2007 ! I'm not saying she didn't, because I don't know. But if she did then they all would have had to or there would have been no one there to help Sawyer to get her out, which they did because he told Kate he didn't want her to help him bury her, and so on.

Juliet was trapped physically by those chains that wrapped around her waist and prevented him from from pulling her to the top of the shaft. She fell to the bottom and preceded to set off Jughead which apparently caused the flash of white light, similar to the EMP. So after that they either all flashed 40 years to 2007, or didn't. Do we know what time it is now ? (omg "what's the time Mr. Wolf ? ")

So I was wrong, and it was Jules detonated Jughead in 1977 and they flashed to 2007 and Sawyer got her out in 2007 where she died in his arms and he was able to bury her.

I feel like such a fool ! Some of us, well me anyway, need a few more rewatches than others !

How did they flash forward to 2007 if the bomb didn't detonate?

The electromagnetic energy building up in what would eventually become the finished Swan station reached a climax and was suddenly released. That resulted in a white flash of light as we've seen before causing them to flash forward.

This was proven when they awoke in 2007 and the Swan had already imploded which showed that it had been completed.

"The incident" was an uncontrolled release of dark energy. However, once the Swan was completed, a mechanism to release that energy every 108 minutes was put in place to prevent its sudden and uncontrolled release as we saw when the Swan imploded and Desmond turned the key. This was accomplished sometime after "The Incident", but prior to 2004.
