My initial thoughts:

Spoiler: Just after the ep aired

- I'm bummed about what happened to Anne Frank, she was a really great character and the whole lobotomy thing was just so wrong and gross, but I guess that's what you get from a Nazi doctor. She was right and she unfortunately had to pay the price.

- Noooooooooo. Not the aliens again! D=

- The Bloody Face reveal was a bit "It puts the lotion in the basket..." for me ZQ . . . love him, but damn he can play crazy psycho serial killer well.

So yeah, not much . . . I love the directing in tonight's episode with the flashbacks that felt old/film reel-y and I love, love, loved the Dutch angles that were used (especially as Oliver was walking down the hallway about mid-episode). The music was just great tonight as well as it really gave that eerie/creepy/unsettling vibe.

This season definitely isn't as food as the first season. But it's still consistently entertaining to me.

I don't understand why the home scenes of Anne looked like we were watching her in a movie.

Full blown Ed Gein territory now. Throw in a dead mother, and we'd have a stew.

I'm stoked. This is not the direction I thought they would head, but I dig it. Honestly it seems the main theme is fear, with the biggest fear being monsters. We can dump everything into monsters; our fear of sex, of foreigners, of religion, of authority, of being less than acceptable, of people who are different, of growing up, and on and on. Monsters are wonderful catchalls for fears, and that seems to be what the monsters (because there are sooooo many monsters) on this show are doing. Even the Stepford Wife is a monster of sorts. Viva la labotomy, Lola.

So this epi was pretty much the Empire Strikes Back, huh? Everyone was left on such a downer note.

I miss so much when I watch and then I have to wait more than a week to rewatch. How could I miss the aliens? How did the picture of Dr. Arden as a Nazi go unnoticed? Sister Mary Eunice dumps Shelly in a schoolyard??? Is she still possessed? Thresden sets up Kit to turn law enforcement away. Soon as I saw the lampshades and the top of a skull as a candy dish, I was about to toss my cookies.
