gift cards make great gifts both for shoppers who are lazy and/or have a lot of gifts to buy. They're also a shrewd choice if there are individuals in your life for whom it is difficult to shop. When bought through the astore, they also help support this site, which isn't self-sufficient and doesn't hold fund-raisers or any of that other crap.

Please consider doing at least some of your holiday shopping through our astore this year.

I met Jason for the first time tonight (was not expecting it and happened to see him heading back to my car after getting my mom a soft pretzel post-show) and I kinda had a brain meltdown. I don't know exactly what I did or said, but I was talking very fast and apologized for not knowing him before last April. Who does that?! I said-"I'm sorry, I didn't know you." All serious. Like a confessional booth. Weird!! Then at the end, I blurted out after blibber blabbing nonsense for a few minutes, "You make me want to be a better person." It just flew out of my mouth. A straight Jerry McGuire moment you guys.

Which this is true- I believe he's genuinely a kind, wonderful person (from what I know of him through his lyrics and his interviews). BUT, I told him this!

So I'm driving back home (3 hours) thinking, "Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. I have so much work to do. Ohhh my." You can't just tell your favorite singer/songwriter/idol you are going to be better and then go rob a liquor store. Not that I was planning on robbing a liquor store. Or...um I should say...I don't mean to judge anyone who maybe had been in a bad spot and robbed a liquor store without *harming anyone* in the past?

But umm good lord.. I've gone extra insane. I'm not drunk-this is worse than drunk! This is shock. I must be in shock. I'm going to Google symptoms for shock.

I think I'll just give my dog a needed bath and clip his nails tomorrow. That's good enough for Day One of being a better person, maybe? I'll go to a meeting too- that will probably work. Maybe clean. Eat vegetables. Yeah. I gotta plan this out. "Mission: Sarah Bee Better" Wow.

Jason is freaking SO NICE. I've never felt like a bigger dork in all my life #venting #bestnightever

Thanks! I will check them out. I do love knowing backstory on a song too.

So we're in VT for a few days, at the von Trapp family lodge.

What's New/Happy Valentine's Day!

The hills that were alive were in Austria. The hills here are just regular ones.

Actually... “The Hills are Alive” sounds like the title of your next book.

Re: What's New/Happy Valentine's Day!

Sounds scary!

I'm learning all kinds of things about the *real* von Trapp family that somewhat ruins the effects of the movie.

They did NOT climb over the Alps to Switzerland. They took a train to Italy, not really on the run, and then a boat to America.

They bought a farm in Vermont and eventually opened a lodge, which is where I am.

Re: What's New/Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm going to go hike to see Maria's grave. And the Baron's.

Hopefully the hills don't take me.
