Re: Politics

Non Partisan Public Service Announcement:

Some states have started purging registered voters from their lists. Even if you are registered, check that your name has not been purged, and that your right to vote has not been taken away from you.

Vote--not only for President, but for every position up for election.

Vote. Do your duty, exercise your right.

Re: Politics

PSA: if you have registered to vote, you may want to verify that said registration is still in place; some states are implementing voter purges as we speak/read.

Verify Your Registration Status and Find Your Polling Place.

It's fast, it's easy--and it's your right and your duty.

Re: Politics

Public service announcement:

If you have not yet registered to vote, do so--after all, in the immortal words of Yogi Berra, "it ain't over till it's over."

And, if you live in a state with early voting, I encourage you to do so. Less opportunity for shenanigans that way.

Re: Politics

Almost over!!!!

(And hopefully, the last Public Service Announcement on this topic for a good long while)

Tomorrow, November 8th, if you are a US citizen, go do your civic duty, and exercise your hard-won right: VOTE!!!

A few points to consider:
  • Despite what some scammers are spreading throughout social media, no one can vote online, via text, etc. If you have not mailed your ballot, or taken advantage of early voting, you MUST now go to your polling place and vote in person.
  • Remember that, once you are in line to vote, it is your right to vote even after the poll has officially closed. By LAW, they have to let you vote.
  • If anyone tries to challenge you right to vote, or impede your access to the voting booth in any way, call 866-our-vote for advice and/or help.
  • If you need a ride, check out drive2vote.org for tips and/or help.
  • And be prepared--the line may be thousands people, and several hours long, depending on where you are, so take something to drink and eat with you, and perhaps a beach chair or some other portable seat. And having an umbrella on hand is never a bad idea.
It's almost over, but it is not over until the last vote is cast, and the last ballot is counted.

Vote.
