Re: Ness' Sandman First Read

I don't know if you've met my favorite character by the second chapter.

*goes to look*

Doll's House Part Two is where you meet Matthew.

Re: Ness' Sandman First Read

imma go back to spamming your thread with analysis of P&N.

BUT WE NEED MORE DOLL'S HOUSE COMMENTS.

Besides that you see Desire as a FMAB character (which is actually pretty dead-on)

Re: Ness' Sandman First Read

I put in for holds on volumes 3 through 7 with the library, but I don't think most of them are due to be turned back in until the 28th. At the rate I'm going, I'll be done with the whole series by then.

What do you think about Rose?

About the Three women (fates / graces / kindly ones)?

About Lucien?

It REALLY is a quick read, because you only have to read the dialogue. Nature of the medium. I FLEW through these books the first time I read them, even for me.

But, don't rush too much. Take a moment with each page to look at the layout, read the dialogue again, make sure you get what's going on. There is a lot of complexity that isn't readily apparent, and the devil is always in the details-- stuff comes back up again. Always. Always that detail comes back to haunt the story.

Re: Ness' Sandman First Read

I'm only through chapter two, geez. The three women, are they the same characters in American Gods?

Also, Unity is back, that was kinda cool. Her daughter was way too quick to just accept what she said though. I don't trust it.

Re: Ness' Sandman First Read

The fates also remind me of the weird sisters from MacBeth... first Shakespeare reference? They also remind me of characters from a video game I played when I was a kid.
