Re: Concerts

Saw TV On The Radio and The Dirtbombs the other night. Fantastic. I was brought to tears three times during TVOTR.

Re: Concerts

I can't begin to describe how great the Elephant 6 Holiday Surprise was. I may not even try but yeah, it was sufficiently awesome. Elf Power sounded amazing, The Gerbils stuff was just wow, and I could watch that spazz Julian Koster all day long. And a helluva new venue for music here in town. An old round barn used for horse sales back in the day. The band is smack dab in the middle, the crowd lined up all around above and below. We were directly above them, hovering. Love.

ETA: Damned near everyone together on I Have Been Floated.

Re: Concerts

Sounds wicked...did you see Elf Power with us at Pitchfork or were you somewhere else?

Re: Concerts

No, we were somewhere else but for the life of me can't remember who may have been playing then. I think we skipped them because they seem to play here often. I swear I think Andrew Reiger lives here. At least I see him around often enough.

Re: Concerts

Just back from Children of Bodom, Machine Head and Slipknot. It was a Slipknot gig, but Machine Head stole the show. Probably the best metal band around right now. And Slipknot wore kilts. Which was awesome.

Re: Concerts

I actually have some shows to go to now! No tickets as of now, but I'll buy 'em soon.

March 26 - Keller Williams (Vonne Approval points!)
March 27 - Jeff Tweedy (I'll try anyway)
April 11 - Rocco de Luca and the Burden
April 15 - Titus Andronicus

Re: Concerts

Titus put on a really good show. Saw them about a month ago.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for M. Ward tickets.

Re: Concerts

It turns out travelling to London to see Nightwish is gonna be wayyyy beyond my financial reaches. So, I give up on it. Not going.

So, with the left over money which was going to be used for travelling, I bought a Metallica ticket to the sold out Glasgow show off of eBay. They got me into music, so it's gonna be a special show, I've waited so long to see them. I'm really annoyed about Nightwish since I love them so much, but Metallica is also gonna be something special, and Machine Head are supporting who are great live.
