Fargo - FX Wednesday

More:

Premieres 4/15 on FX
Pretty good cast. If it's half as good as movie, it'll be worth watching.

Re: Fargo

Yes - I am planning on watching this show. Does look like a good cast including the actor that was Saul on Breaking Bad.

Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman (BBCs Sherlock Holmes' Watson), Keith Carradine, Oliver Platt, etc... This is a superb cast!

Dog, what's the background on the series? Is this going to be a remake of the original movie? How many episodes will they be producing?

Re: Fargo

I thought the movie was great (a bit shocking).

I will give it a test run.

Re: Fargo

Fargo was a great movie, but I don't know how it would translate to a series. The murder/blackmail was probably the main action that Marge has seen during her career. I hope it's not the crime of the week scenario thereby making Fargo one of the most violent destinations.

I hope they do something similar to Lillyhammer or Northern Exposure and include a "fish out of water" character. I think it will need that perspective for it to succeed.

Re: Fargo

From what I gather it's gonna be a 10 episode limited (1 year) series.
It's gonna be similar in style to film, but not a sequel or prequel, but a whole new crime story.

Re: Fargo

This thread intrigued me enough to watch the movie again today. Saw a couple of promos that make the show look definitely worth checking.

Re: Fargo

I thought they did a pretty solid job of keeping the story fresh. Would this be considered a reimagining of a story based on factual events? I can see this working just fine as a limited duration season/show, I know the film but am intrigued with what's going on in the show. The last scenes with the killer and the Duluth cop, and the lady deputy and the sheriff's wife, wow. Way to break new ground with an old story.

Re: Fargo

I liked it, I will continue to watch.

Could this almost be prequel-ish? Maybe the dead sheriff's wife ends up with Nygaard, being his wife from the movie?
