LOST Theories So you think you know some secrets of the island? Maybe you can explain everything. If it's original and you can back it up, we'd love to hear it.

Re: THE MISSING INLETS

Here's something new. Did you ever think the maps were not originally made by Danielle, that maybe she found them in one of the hatch's on the island, but she wrote over it to make sense of the maps themselves.
And yeah I agree I think the island is changing over time, so it would be easy to get lost in it ) bad joke I know.

When the blip appeared on the rafter's radar, the Others were headed in the direction of the island. Most likely, the inlets is where their "base" is located.
I agree that the Degroots must have a base inside of a natural cave (with water as the entryway) - thus, the only way in/out is by boat or to take a long swim. Likely, the cave entrance is also part of the disappearing inlet - which means the Degroots may be trapped inside their base for days at a time. Unless, they have constructed tunnels elsewhere.

Re: THE MISSING INLETS

Again, it reminds me of "The Incredibles" island. I know that sounds silly, but think about it: if this majorly funded Dharma Initative really wanted to create a Utopian Society/Field Study Enviornment, wouldn't they have more structures, facilities than what we have seen? But also, if it is supposed to be more secretive, it would make sense for the facilities to be hidden as to not compromise their experiment/initatives...

Any thoughts?

Re: THE MISSING INLETS

Hi yung!

Glad to see you tried this thread again. I do think you are on to something.

although I've heard that mentioned..it seems a bit difficult to swallow the others suiting up to go diving, ? how else would they get down
I don't know if you read the diary, but early on the diarist writes that she goes swimming early in the morning. One morning something big and dark surfaces near her and then resubmerges. She thinks it's a whale, but what if..it's a small sub?

Also in the summer preview for the new season there were a few frames that had (what I think) is an underwater facility. I'll see if I can find the cap.
I found it - here it is -

Most people can't get past the image of the eye. Look at the left side - middle and lower corner - do you see the cylinder? Now look all the way to the left almost halfway up - do you see what looks like a "spotlight" or lens?

Re: THE MISSING INLETS

so hi..

I forgot all about the damn steam sounding thing mentioned by the diarist..

good memory !

now it makes sense...
thanks CS

PS.. and I dont see much...too messy.

so... if there IS a mini sub.. then there must be a 'safe" port for them to board the sub...

Asaint..
and I too have thought about the incredibles with lost..
espeically after the bird scene..

I keep missing you since you've become a mod. You aren't in theories as much as you used to be - but then duty calls.

Good to see you though. What do you think about that underwater scene I posted?

Re: THE MISSING INLETS

I go with the mini-sub idea for the reason that why spare any expense for this experiment. Second, my reason for believing the underwater station theory coincides with the remote viewing facility to be on or around the island, and what better place to block extraneous noise and distraction then to be underwater. Remember what it sounds like to hold your head under water? Sound is greatly amplified, and yet you get a sense of "hearing your own thoughts" or being mentally focused and into your own 'zone'. And maybe there is the foreshadowing of Walt always being wet, pointing to an aquatic connection.

I remember when these pics were posted on here during the summer.
If you look closely at the "cylinder," it resembles the Trieste II used by the US Navy for deep-sea research.

[Edit]: The rounded image on the right might be a bathysphere.
