..but leave it to HBO to do what they did with it, and then to have her and Dany giggling about it like school girls..

Oh, I think they will. I think that's a genuine spoiler.

I sort of agree. In the books I wondered how the "others" were unified in purpose and plan. I wondered about the significance of the stories told by Nan. The story of the Night's King.. what relevance.. mainly though, what force unified the dead.

It might not happen in the books, but I think that would be because GRRM doesn't pursue the angle more-so than something Stannis wouldn't do. He always seemed to me to put duty above family.
Yeah I can see him doing it in the books. /shrug

As far as I know, the official word from both GRRM and the DDs is that the "Night King" is not the same character as the "Night's King" legend from the books. There is no legend of any "Night King," and it bugs me how our show characters are calling him "the Night King" without any explanation whatsoever for the origin of that name.

Post #1 updated with a list of reverse-anti-predictions made so far.

The Books will not... reveal the origin of "Hodor" to be "hold the door."

Re: The Books Will Not... (GoT/ASoIaF reverse prediction thread, book spoilers)

I know there is a difference between the Night King and Night's King. The TV show has juxtaposed those things, but it doesn't mean a unifying leader of the others wont appear in the books.

The books will not have Tyrion's cheesy dialogue from season 5+

Re: The Books Will Not... (GoT/ASoIaF reverse prediction thread, book spoilers)

The books will have the line "That's what I do. I drink and I know things."
I mean yeah, a lot of the dialogue took a big nose dive after they went off-book, but that right there is solid.
