Re: What's New/It's here! Happy Thanksgiving!

at Christmas without Santa and the pie saga. Sounds like everyone had an excellent feast!

It was a good holiday, I'll admit. My hubby and I took the dog and our 5 yr. old niece to the beach for a pre-dinner walk. It was beautiful. The food all came out great. There was a little drama at the table, which is slightly surprising b/c the usual causes of drama had been removed (my dad's wife)...but my sister is highly emotional and I made the mistake of bringing up a vacation we're going to go on with my BFF and family (which we've done a million times, they're like our family, our kids are the same age, we vacation together great)...but my sister gets a bit jealous I guess. There were a few tears

But her baby is feeling better and that's great. We cleaned up together and it took little time. My older son praised all my food My younger son hates everything so I wasn't expecting him to like the homemade mashed, the casserole, or the stuffing, and he didn't, so no surprises there.

Then we played Taboo which is a family tradition and it was hysterical.

I had to make my team (my older son and my hubby) guess "Quilt" and they couldn't get the word right and they kept yelling "Kilt!"

Then we went on another walk, I read to the girls, and we watched It's Always Sunny. Good times.

Re: What's New/It's here! Happy Thanksgiving!

I didn't cook anything. Since the boys were gone, we went to a restaurant about an hour away and had food off their thanksgiving menu. I had a steak with creamy crab sauce, mashed potato, and asparagus hubby had a honey pecan encrusted salmon and we had jalapeno beer dusted fries with a spicy beer cheese to start with.

Best part of that... No clean up and left an almost 50% tip for those that did,

So while a wonderful selection that sounds amazing, what amongst those choices says “Thanksgiving Menu”?

I don't know that one. We rarely veer from Taboo. My Dad introduced it to us when we were teenagers and it's been our family game ever since.

Re: What's New/It's here! Happy Thanksgiving!

Now my sister and I are at Christmas Tree Shop which is hard to explain if you've never been to one. I have a variety of things from Lysol wipes to holiday candles to put in window to picture frames to chocolate chips.

Well, they did offer a full turkey dinner as part of the thanksgiving menu, which we both opted out of, you could have chosen from I think about 6 entrees as they also had prime rib and scallops on their thanksgiving menu.

Oh and the mashed potatoes are definitely thanksgiving foods as previously decided in this thread, they did taste homemade.

They'd better be. Any restaurant serving instant mashed potatoes would most likely fail pretty quickly.

When bought through the astore, they also help support this site, which isn't self-sufficient and doesn't hold fund-raisers or any of that other crap.

Please consider doing at least some of your holiday shopping through our astore this year.
