Re: Game *Name That Tune*

That's Bonnie Tyler.

Don't know the exact name of the song... "Hero" "Holding on for a hero" "I need a hero" something like that.

"Something of the" Heart!
Mr Mo, Bonnie Tyler was right, but the song is:

Total Eclipse of the Heart

ETA: Here's one that should be easy,

Wait in this place where the shadows run from themselves
You said no strings could secure you at the station
Platform ticket, restless diesels, goodbye windows
I walked into such a sad time at the station
As I walked out, felt my own need just beginning
I'll wait in the queue when the trains come back...

Down the street you can hear her scream "you're a disgrace"
As she slams the door in his drunken face,
And now he stands outside and all the neighbours start to gossip and drool.

After reading your comment in the Eric Clapton thread, I was curious whether you'd get this one.

Re: Game *Name That Tune*

I can't put a melody to those lyrics.

What about a hint?

Re: Game *Name That Tune*

Like Cream, a "power trio" I'll keep posting lyrics and eventually somebody will get it.

Quote:
There was a young girl, whose heart was a frown,
Because she was crippled for life, and couldn't speak a sound
And she wished and prayed she would stop living, so she decided to die.
She drew her wheel chair to the edge of the shore, and to her legs she smiled

"You won't hurt me no more."
But then a sight she'd never seen made her jump and say.
"Look, a golden winged ship is passing my way!"

Re: Game *Name That Tune*

I'm pretty familiar with Rush, and those lyrics don't become them. But, Rush!

Re: Game *Name That Tune*

If i can write out every verse and not write our the one line chorus, i will give out the answer. This song didn't chart but was performed by an icon of the definitive rock-n-roll era.

Quote:
Down the street you can hear her scream "you're a disgrace"
As she slams the door in his drunken face,
And now he stands outside and all the neighbours start to gossip and drool.
He cries, "Oh girl! You must be mad!
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?"
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green.

____

A little Indian brave who before he was ten, played war games in
the woods with his Indian friends, and he built a dream that when he
grew up, he would be a fearless warrior Indian Chief.

Many moons passed and more the dream grew strong, until tomorrow
He would sing his first war song,
And fight his first battle, but something went wrong,
Surprise attack killed him in his sleep that night.
