Suggested "Standardized Tags"
The LOSTTV-FORUM administrators have provide us all with a very nice function called "Tags." By adding Tags to a thread (anyone can -- not just the person who started the thread), threads dealing with specific subjects can be located more effectively by interested readers, and multiple threads dealing with the same subject can be quickly found.
While there is no requirement that posters use identical tags to describe a thread's content, common sense suggests that uniformity, or standardization, of Tags holds the promise of maximizing the intended benefits of this feature by reducing, if not eliminating, the guess work in deciding exactly what searchable terms other board members would use to either Tag or search for a thread. Indeed, the Tag search function is largely intolerable of even minor variations in Tag searches, so a search for "Literary Allusions" would not return threads tagged "Literature Allusions" or "Allusions Literary."
Moreover, the use of Standardized Tags offers the possibility that a thread will be grouped with the hundreds of threads already categorized in the existing T&S Index
, thereby promoting all readers' ability to more easily locate and enjoy multiple threads dealing with a specifc subject in which they are interested.
Set forth here
is a list of suggested Standardized Tags. These Tags are actually already in use in the T&S Index. All you need to do to use one or more of these Tags is to "cut and paste" into the Tags dialog box which appears below the last post on any page of a thread.
