Re: What's New/Literal Hell on Wheels

lmao. It won't be so much for trainspotting as killing someone.

Now there are branches on the line or something due to storm. Thanks Hermine.

I"m never leaving home again.

Oh, btw, when the conductor scanned my ticket I just said "I was moved on to this train after the one I was on broke down" and he just shrugged and said that's fine.

I"m almost disappointed, I was ready to fight.

He was probably glad you weren't saying, "Isn't this train going to Washington, DC??"

That's what you get for using a 130 year old mode of transportation.

I know, right? They literally made that announcement "This train is not going to DC"

Still not home. Hermine screwed with the last part.

I feel really, really bad laughing at that.

And I agree with the others who pointed out how completely full of win it was to say, "we are now!" when asked if you were first class.

Sorry your day blew so hard and you didn't even get the satisfaction of fighting :P Hope your today is better, Cat.

Re: What's New/Literal Hell on Wheels

Thanks all Re-entry is hard, especially after that day.

Got home around 9:00. Poured a glass of wine and sat down on couch. One of the cats raced by and tipped it and it spilled and smashed. Felt about right.

Cleaned up, poured another, and went to bed.

Calling Amtrak today about a refund. I may get my fight after all!

In other news, Day 1 of Whole 30. Yikes.

Scot: So sorry to hear about Gershwin.

Frecks: I think everyone covered any input I could give on the "houseguest". I agree with Scot about changing the 11/1 move out date being perceived as betrayl. But I like Brdmom's suggestion that you have another talk, reiterate that date and make it clear that it will be moved up IF no progress is made. Give her deadlines. Like tomorrow you will go get your trust paperwork taken care of. X # of attainable job apps that you can actually accept per week. etc. Az is right too, you can't help someone else at the expense of your family. One thing that still sticks out to me is the midnight walk. She was doing something for two hours in the middle of the night. And I doubt she was hunting pokemon. If it wasn't a romantic interlude, then what was it? Any chance of a drug problem? Was she sneaking by her dad's house for some reason? (To get an item she left behind. Enact some form of revenge like key his car.)

gertie: I agree w/ everyone else. File a police report. If nothing else happens, no harm no foul. But it's better to have it documented in case something does happen.

Hermine did me a favor. My 3 day weekend turned into a 4 1/2 day weekend. And I was only w/o power for 22 hours of it.

Many others weren't so lucky.

Some parts of it were hit really hard. There are still about 30k people without power today. We got lucky that the storm veered slightly east just before making landfall. The worst damage was on the east side of the storm. The neighboring counties in that direction got it really bad.

That would be AWESOME!
