Re: Berlin Station - EPIX Sunday

Still a very slow burn, no deaths this week, no car chases, no James Bond flying off in a jet pack, no car bombs or other mayhem. It's slow and most of the suspense is about who will be next on the chopping block (as in clandestine operations being exposed and CIA employees involved being sent back to the States for debriefing and probably fired). Of course their field sources are getting spooked and most running for the hills.

The main focus of this episode is that an investigative team from CIA HQ in Virginia is sent to the Berlin Station to try to uncover any leaks in the office. The Head of Operations, who sent Daniel Miller (Armitage) on his secret mission to uncover the Whistle blower, is fired, since the buck apparently stops with her, leaving Daniel cut off from his mission. He is still working out of the Berlin office, but less covertly. We don't know the future of his original mission or who he can trust.

Actually, what keeps me interested is the backdrop of Berlin. If it was set in the States, I would probably be done with this. I find the CIA and German intelligence relationship interesting and particularly their "spooking" of each other.

Really liking this series so far. I'd heavily suggest it.

Re: Berlin Station - EPIX Sunday

Some really fine acting, overall. I particularly like Leland Orser who plays the deputy station chief, Robert Kirsch. Things ended with an explosive argument between Kirsch and Station Chief Frost in last week's episode and I'm wondering where things are headed with him.

Re: Berlin Station - EPIX Sunday

Another intense episode, but a predictable outcome. I'm disappointed that Daniel covered for Hector. After the extreme f-up in the shopping mall from the last episode, I'm not surprised of the ramifications. Berlin Station is in chaos, heads are rolling, and we have a couple of rogue agents. Wow.
