Re: Baseball - It does the body good. (Official Baseball Thread)

16L43, being in the Philly area as well as in the same division (Phils), I've heard all about this and it is a shame. They deserve to get the new stadium, but once again, it's all about money. I also heard that the Marlins may also be up for moving to Vegas. I wonder who'd win out. If either of those teams move out, it looks like the Pirates will be moving in to take their spot in the NL East.

I hear you guys are calling him "Johnny Iscariot" nowadays. lol.

Now, a question for a BoSox fan... Will you guys make up a new curse to explain your losses, this time about Damon instead of the Babe?

RSN (Red Sox Nation to outsiders) didn't make up the curse, the press did.

Mr. Cluck--

The city's flush with cash but the crime rate remains high, school buildings are crumbling to the ground and every time the weather turns cold water mains burst at an alarming rate. I'd personally love to see where all the money goes in the city, especially when the Council pleads poverty concerning the stadium...

(The Phillies gave the Nationals fits this year. It's going to be a great rivalry if the team stays in D.C.)...

That's right, you guys don't really have any true rivals. It seems as if the Phils are in a rivalry with all of the NL East. Although, it did feel good being the only team from the East to beat you into the ground.

16L43, it's funny we were talking about relocating... here's an article on the Marlins' plans. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_yl...v=ap&type=lgns

Pfft. You guys are liking the antiques this year with signing our Todd Pratt and re-signing your Julio Franco. We loved Pratty up here, and then he had to be a traitor and join the dark side like Byrd did several years back. I remember when we had Estrada, too. But, it looks as if we're both gunna be in for some trouble with these Mets. Now, there are rumors they're looking at Manny.

Dark side huh? Like I said, don't be jealous of all the success. Schuerholz is the clucking MAN when it comes to putting together teams. Oh and thanks for Pratt. He should help out when our rookie sensation Brian McCann needs a day off. Also, don't forget about Francoeur. I think he'll do just fine hitting behind Giles, Renteria, and the Jones boys.

I know what you mean about the Mets, but they've been re-loading every year since they lost to the Yanks in 2000. We'll see if they can finally translate $$ into wins this year soon enough.

BTW - We let Franco walk...to guess who? The Mets.

Maybe that's who I was thinking of when they traded Franco. I heard someone signed him, thought it was the Braves. But then I was just looking before and saw he wasn't on the roster anymore.

You're definitely right about being able to make a team, but don't forget about our rookie rookie sensation - Ryan Howard, batting along with rising star Chase Utley, Home Run Derby champ Bobby Abreu, Pat "Homer or Miss" Burrell, J-Roll, and now Aaron Rowand. There's also talk of us getting Tejada to play third.
