Man-o-man!

1-1 tie in the bottom of the 9th inning. Justin Turner at bat.

We want to end this thing tonight with Kershaw on the mound.

Re: The Official Baseball Thread

You got your wish, Hodge. After losing the first two, the Yankees won all three at home; they need to win one on the road to travel to your Dodgers Tuesday for game 1 of the World Series.

Is there a team you prefer to face, between the Astros and Yankees?

The Dodgers and Yankees have played each other in the World Series 11 times. The overall record is 9-2 favoring the Yankees, but the Dodgers have won the only matchup in the last 50+ years, which was 36 years ago in 1981, which was a weird strike-shortened year. I vaguely remember watching some of it as a kid; i'd probably remember it better if the Yankees had won.

The Astros have never won a World Series. They were created in 1962 and have lost their only WS appearance, being swept 4-0 by the Chicago's White Sox in 2005, while the Astros were a National League squad. If the Astros win the last two games of this year's ALCS, they'd be the first franchise to win a pennant in each League, as the Brewers haven't won an NL pennant so far.

Probably the Yankees!

Everybody hates the Yankees. With the Astros, we'd be dealing with the sentiment that the 'Stros have never been. We don't want to deal with that.

Can't believe SpidermanHouston (NFL Pick'ems Commish) hasn't stopped by this thread for a little moral support.

Great game last night. I guess the 'Stros refuse to go gently into that good night.

Game #7 tonight, 8et/7c/5w

Re: The Official Baseball Thread

National League forever, but I concur with Map, Mr Mo, and Joe Girardi. Hope the Astros "Go win it all." (Despite all due respect to Dave Roberts.)

The Yankees can hold their heads up. That was a fun series, and whoever won was going to be a worthy champ. Yankees fans have a lot to look forward to. Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to watching Jose Altuve conquer the world.

Also, I join with Nats fans across this and all other universes in saying: "WTF?" Maybe you saw reasons to fire Dusty, but there was no reason to be such utter douches in how you went about it. My guess is that Karma's going to be taking a giant bite out of your ownership ass on this one.
