Re: The Sinner - USA Wednesday

I love how this series has taken us from suspecting Cora to be a cold-blooded killer, to now realizing she's nothing more than a victim herself.

Cora's therapist allows Det. Ambrose to sit in on her latest session. I'm not sure this would be allowed, but I'll let it go to continue the story.

As a young girl, Cora lets her sister talk her into having a sexual liaison with their neighbor. I assume this is her first taste of sex, but I wouldn't bet on it. I'm still thinking her father molested her as a child. Not saying this was sex, but who knows what Cora thinks.

Thru this session, Det. Ambrose is led to the place in the woods where another body is found. We don't know whether this body was of someone Cora killed or another victim.

I'm behind. Still haven't seen all of ep 3. Been busy. This is definitely my favorite new show of the season. JB has knocked my socks off so far.

DSOTM, I couldn't agree more.

Its gone from an apparent psychopath, who walks up to an innocent guy on the beach and stabs him to death. To, us feeling complete sympathy for the Cora character (Jessica Biel).

Jessica has engulfed this role and made it hers. I can't imagine anyone else playing the lead.

Re: The Sinner - USA Wednesday

I thought the epi last night was a bit uneven. Almost felt like a filler before we get to the ending details.

Yeah, the private club detail was interesting, especially when the good detective went downstairs and saw the masks and the room with the locked door. He has no clue about them, but it was a good tip for us viewers. But I just thought the dynamic with the new state cop threw off the balance and flow a bit. Maybe that was the design.

I still find Cora a fascinating character, and Bill Pullman's equally so. They are both tormented souls. Gonna be interesting to find out why in both cases.

Rape Club definitely has an icky vibe.

Didn't know you were watching, Lawboy. Wish you'd chimed in earlier.

Lawboy, I'm trying to remember how long was Cora missing? I know she left her parents, and wasn't heard from for several months. We also know, she was living with her aunt for a while after rehab.

The reason I'm curious, how long was she drugged and assaulted in that club? As you point out, with the mask and the wallpaper, she was apparently kept and locked away at the club. Was the dealer and his girlfriend the only ones involved, or were there more people caught up in this scheme?

I got the idea it was the plan.

She comes into town thinking she knows everything about "murder cases" and she's trying to put Ambrose on the back-burner.

She's even trying to get him put off the case so she'll have everything she needs to put another notch in her belt. Hate her!

I'm finding Cora's sister the instigator of a lot of things she went thru as a young girl. She's obviously living thru Cora, but she's also acting as her "pimp" on more than one occasion.

Having her go on dates to steal $ from the guys. Is this $ going to be used for them to find a place of their own?

Det. Ambrose's wife puts him out again, and he immediately goes to see "Miss Arm Twister". Man, how in the HELL do you find that sexually stimulating?

Not sure if you recognized her, but she played young Kate on The Blacklist last season.

Great catch, Lawboy. I didn't recognize her until you mentioned it.
