I don't think my list is up to date right not. In fact, I hope I'm still on the list.

Re: What's New/The Postman Always Emails Once

My hubby is in CA (comes home today) and I leave tomorrow for VA (family wedding).

So far this morning, I've helped my kid with his hair (he had long hair and suddenly decided last night to get it cut short - big improvement!), driven him to school, unclogged the toilet, successfully cooked chicken for tonight, and now I'm washing the soccer uniform the kid apparently needs TODAY for team pics, so I'll have to get that dried and get it to him before I go into work. Feeling fairly accomplished but none of this stuff is what I need to get done for my trip.

That's good to hear. I think earthquakes scare me more than any other natural disaster. You should be able to trust the ground beneath your feet.

You're only missing his Magnum Opus. No biggie.

The rest of y'all don't know what you're missing. It's galaxy-spanning romance and intrigue; the future of the human race is on the line; there's aliens and cloning and the most repugnant anti-hero in the history of anti-hero-dom; you will most likely intensely dislike the protagonists, but you'll probably love at least a couple of them anyway; there's even a dragon, of a sort (what Ring cycle could be complete without one? - and this one's based on Wagner not Tolkien); and futuristic weapons and mind control and crystal resonance and Gap Sickness and so so so much more.

But all that really matters is that those who haven't read it, you're missing out on a good story. As for the sci-fi elements, they're there, but the books are about the characters, so you don't have to love sci-fi to love Gap. If you can tolerate sci-fi you will probably like Gap and possibly love it. If you love sci-fi, you will love Gap.

And if you thought Thomas Covenant was pissed, just wait till you meet Angus Thermopyle.

Don't be a stranger, Draz!

gift cards make great gifts both for shoppers who are lazy and/or have a lot of gifts to buy. They're also a shrewd choice if there are individuals in your life for whom it is difficult to shop. When bought through the astore, they also help support this site, which isn't self-sufficient and doesn't hold fund-raisers or any of that other crap.

Please consider doing at least some of your holiday shopping through our astore this year.
