My hubby is in CA (comes home today) and I leave tomorrow for VA (family wedding).

So far this morning, I've helped my kid with his hair (he had long hair and suddenly decided last night to get it cut short - big improvement!), driven him to school, unclogged the toilet, successfully cooked chicken for tonight, and now I'm washing the soccer uniform the kid apparently needs TODAY for team pics, so I'll have to get that dried and get it to him before I go into work. Feeling fairly accomplished but none of this stuff is what I need to get done for my trip.

As for the sci-fi elements, they're there, but the books are about the characters, so you don't have to love sci-fi to love Gap. If you can tolerate sci-fi you will probably like Gap and possibly love it. If you love sci-fi, you will love Gap.

And if you thought Thomas Covenant was pissed, just wait till you meet Angus Thermopyle.
