I'll give this season a shot now.

I wasn't going to.

Um, not exactly, at least by my understanding.

Spoiler: spoiler regarding tennant's role in season 2
He will actually appear and talk to her as a sort of figment of her imagination. I have no idea how much time he gets on the show.

The trailer did nothing for me. I'm not a big fan of the character, or at least the actress' portrayal of her. Tennant is what made the first season work for me.

I'm like the complete opposite. I kinda liked the trailer, and I never cared for Tennent (or Dr Who for that matter). I pretty much hated his character. That plus some writing inconsistencies/issues (don't even get me started) made me stop watching rage quit season 1 altogether. Took me a year before I could actually sit down and finish the last few episodes.

On the other hand, I did like her and some of the other characters. Plus I liked how dark and gritty this particular Marvel universe is. So maybe given a fresh story line sans the ever annoying over powerful arch nemesis and a new mystery/crime/bad guy(s). Maybe I'll actually enjoy this season after all.

Now I'm judging you.

Re: Marvel's Jessica Jones - Netflix

I'm interested and considering watching, but will I have to have watched The Defenders to keep up with the next season? Because I have 0 interest in Daredevil, Luke Cage or Iron Fist. So if I have to sit through all of that then Im out.

I don't think so. I'd say you only need to see the first season of JJ to follow along. and they will probably start with a "previously on" segment.

Sorry, not sorry. I've seen that actor in several things.
Basically 'acts' the same in all of them. Unimpressed.

I've watched most of them. Couldn't get past the pilot of Iron Fist.
Daredevil's still my favorite of the bunch. I'd give it a chance.
However, none of them are required.

I'll assume you haven't seen him do shakespeare in london or a myriad of other roles like in Broadchurch

Anyway, the JJ character is just too whiny and emo and she frankly made the show worse. She was even a debbie downer in the Heroes for Hire series. She's pretty hard to root for and her acting is mediocre at best. She's better as a side character than a lead

Re: Marvel's Jessica Jones - Netflix

I enjoyed the Dashiell Hammett, Mickey Spillane atmosphere of the first season but JJ is over the top with her emo attitude and alcoholic tendencies. I enjoy the style but it gets old and I'm not really interested in digging deeper into her issues. I wonder if Luke Cage will make another appearance?
