You already know this, little namesake, but I still remember the talk he gave at NU my freshman year. His comparative chalkboard diagrams of the plotlines of a fairy tale, Hamlet, and Kafka's Metamorphosis still cracks me up. And the way he described the meditative trance-like state he reached while reading (literally "taking in") a book still sticks with me, and it was (holy *#@$) 17 years ago.

All joking aside, Vonnegut is definitely one of my three or four favorite authors.

Cats' Cradle and Breakfast of Champions are my two favorites.
